Twelve days.
I have been roaming the forest for twelve days and if i was convinced earlier that i was not lost, then i sure was not now.
Well technically i couldn't be lost, since i had no exact destination.

In fact, thinking about this now, my plan to leave was not at all well thought out. I had food, water and clothing, the basic necessities; but where was i gonna go?

Wherever my feet brought me, i went.
Day 1, i was still amazed by the freedom and nature surrounding me. Everything looked so magical and i felt like some character in a book or a movie. I was absorbing the most i could, paying attention to every little detail my mesmerized eyes could land on .

The following 5 days went by the same way. I had enough food and water to survive and keep my energy strong.

On the 7th day, however was when the homesickness started to kick in and the food supply was slowly running low.

The remaining days went by in utter boredom, exhaustion and hunger. I had nowhere to sleep so i would find caves, holes or anything i could fit my little body in. The nights were cold and different sounds, each more scary than the other, could be heard. I was slowly regretting my decision to leave, especially considering that i never had the opportunity to encounter the wild.

Today, was the twelfth day, and i was this close to turning around but where was home ?
I did not even know where i was going, just roaming around like a rogue wolf. Actually if you think about it, i was almost rogue at this point. The only thing indicating i was indeed a pack wolf was the scent of Redwood that was still latched onto me. It's not until the Alpha banishes you from the pack that you become rogue.

To my biggest relief though, despite the struggles i faced in the wilderness, i was lucky enough not to come across any wolf or any animal of some sort.

I sat down, sliding my back on the tree trunk behind me, finally allowing myself to take a deep breath. I looked at my surrounding, and it's only then that it hit me. I was no longer on deserted lands.

Panic surged through me at the sudden realization that i stepped into claimed territory. Without wasting a breath, i rose to my feet and decided to leave the area as quickly as i possibly could. Up till now my presence had been unnoticed but i was not foolish enough to believe this was going to remain the case.

Thankfully for me, i was still surrounded by dense dark green foliage, so i was easily concealed. My anxiousness multiplied tenfold when i sensed movement around me. I ducked behind a massive tree trunk and made use of my senses to detect any potential danger.

I could hear several breathing and slow menacing growls not far away. I was beyond terrified of getting caught by a pack wolf. I had never been outside the Redwood pack so i had no connections to any other pack. Therefore no way to identify whether they were friendly or not. By sensing the aggressivity of their growls however, it did not take much to conclude the fact that they did not welcome strangers easily.

I had to make a move. It was now or never, so my fight or flight mode kicked in. You already know, i chose flight. I had no strength and energy to fight, so the latter was the best option.

Coming out of my hiding place, i spared no time to run in the opposite direction, towards the deserted land. It seemed like the wolves were awaiting for me to reveal myself, because the moment i did, a group of 4 to 5 wolves started chasing after me. I employed all of my strength and abilities to increase the speed of my run.

Looking ahead, the path was rocky and uneven, making it harder for me to run faster. But, then i realized if they were slowing me down, then they were slowing the wolves behind me too.
