"Would you stop moving!" Des said hitting my arm with the brush
"Sorry!" I exclaimed rubbing my arm "I'm just nervous!"
"Why are you nervous? Jeremy has taken you out millions of times." Arwen said working on my makeup
"You guys are helping me get ready." I pointed out
"We always help you get ready for big dates with Jer." Keisha said walking out of my closet with some clothes
"Now stop fussing and stay still before I burn you!" Des said as she continued to curl my hair
I closed my eyes and took a couple deep relaxing breaths to calm my nerves. Why was I so nervous about this date with Jeremy? We've been on numerous dates over the last three years, so why was I nervous about this date? More importantly why are the girls getting me all glamed up when Jer and I aren't going to a premier? Oh my god they totally know what is going to happen! Sneaky little devils!
"Done!" Des and Arwen happily exclaimed at the same time
"Alright, Amy come on time to get you dressed." Keisha said pulling me up from the chair
"I can get dressed myself." I said and was immediately handed the clothes before being pushed into the bathroom
As carefully as I could, I got changed and miraculously didn't mess up any of Des and Arwen's work. Lord knows if I did, I'd never hear the end of it! Looking down at what I was wearing, I nodded in approval. Knee length leggings and a cute red tunic paired with some black flats! As soon as I stepped out of the bathroom a flash went off blinding me for a couple seconds.
"What the hell Des!" I said rapidly blinking my eyes to get of the many dots that blurred my vision
"Why do you assume it was me?" She asked
"Because you're the one who brought a camera!"
It was quiet for a moment "Touche...." She muttered
"Jeremy is here!" they squealed and ushered me downstairs
"Have fun!" Keisha said opening the door
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" Arwen yelled as Jer and I made our way to the car
"Use protection!" Des yelled laughing
Jer laughed opening the car door for me and I blushed different shades of red. Jeremy quickly ran around the car and got in and soon we were off. We made small talk during the car ride as the radio softly played in the background.
I was looking out the window and realized where he was taking me.
"The park?" I questioned looking at him
He smiled as he glanced at me "The place we met."
I smiled at the memory. The girls and I had went to the park for part of our day out, we were just sitting there on the picnic blanket talking and laughing when Des, being Des decided we should play a game with the dog we all shared. Needless to say I was running away from the dog laughing and when I threw the ball to Arwen, I ran into someone. I heard Des's laughter first and only when I looked up at the person did I realize why she was laughing. I had ran into Jeremy Renner. Literally ran into him. And as a cherry on top of everything, I was wearing the T-Shirt the girls made me of Jeremy and I might of yelled out Hawkeye when I threw the ball. Now in my defense Des named the dog Hawkeye.
"I still remember the look on your face when you look up at me." Jeremy said as we walked to the place by the big oak tree we dubbed as ours.
That was the spot the gang always hangs out at when we come here. The gang being Jeremy, Des, Lee, Arwen, Richard, Keisha, Chris and I.
I giggled "I was shocked I ran into you!"
He laughed "You know Des planned the whole thing."
"She did?"
"She told me that Lee had told her I was back in town and they both knew I always go for runs in this park during the afternoon. The girls definitely planned you running into me."
"Should've known they'd do something sneaky like that."
We sat down and enjoyed the picnic meal Jeremy brought from our favorite restaurant. When dessert came around, Jer pulled out a container of chocolate covered strawberries and set it between us. I was leaning back on my elbow looking out at the night sky and admiring the wonderful sight of the stars, when I reached a hand into the container and grabbed something that wasn't a strawberry. Pulling the object out and into my view I gasped and looked to Jeremy who was on one knee making me quickly sit up on my knees.
He smiled and took my hand "Amy, these last three years have been the best years of my life. You've been my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, my biggest support, my inspiration, my rock, my better half and the light of my life. Without you I'd be a complete and utter wreck, just ask all our friends." He lightly chuckled "From the moment you ran into me that day at this very park a little over four years ago, I knew you were the one for me. The best way for me to describe it all is with the song from Moulin Rouge..." Taking a deep breath he looked me in the eyes and softly started to sing "Never knew I could feel like this. Like I've never seen the sky before. Want to vanish inside your kiss. Every day I'll love you more and more. Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing? Telling me to give you everything. Seasons may change, winter to spring. But I'll love you until the end of time." Tears slowly cascaded down my face "Amy will you marry me?" He asked
I smiled and nodded "Yes!"
He grinned and slipped the ring on my finger and pulled me into a kiss.
