Chapter-02

Raj- Tumhare room mein ek file thi Manik.

[Raj- There was a file in your room Manik.]

Manik, Mukti and Neyonika stare at each other worriedly, as Raj comes and stands in front of Manik, to which Manik then sighs deeply and looks straight in to his eyes.

Raj- Kuch puch raha hoon main tum se Manik. Tumhare room mein ek file thi Manik, padha tum ne usse?

[Raj- I am asking something, Manik. There was a file in your room Manik, did you read it?]

Manik gets quiet while Mukti looks at Neyonika, worried and scared.

Raj- Did you read the file, Manik?

Manik- I didn't.

Raj- What? Say that again.

Manik- I didn't read the file, Dad.

Raj- Oh, no problem with that. But Mukti must have read it. Right Mukti?

Raj looks at Mukti and goes towards her while Manik asks her to take a deep breath from behind and stay calm.

Raj (angrily)- Speak up, Mukti. Did you read the file?

Mukti- Yes... Yes, I did, Dad. I read the file.

Raj- You guys really don't understand anything, do you? Why did you do it when I asked Manik to do it?

Neyonika wipes her tears and goes to Raj.

Neyonika- Raj, why do you keep ignoring things then? You know Manik loves music, and Mukti is interested in the business. Then why do you stop them?

Raj- Because I want my son to take over my business. Not Mukti. How many times have I told this thing too? I don't want my son to ruin my reputation by going on to some low-class musician and giving some shitty audition.

Manik- It was not a shitty audition, Dad. Nor was the company low class. They are a good brand, and I even got selected.

Raj- You think I won't know what you are doing? Tum jo jo karte ho uss sab ke baare mein pata hota hai mujhe. Thakk gaya hoon main tum logon ko samjha samjha kar. Main Manik ko musician banne nahi dunga. At no cost. And he will join my business. Mukti jo bhi kare, but I won't let her work in my company. And she can't follow some shitty low-grade profession either. And that's final.
