Chapter 8: Victor

~Victor~

I started walking in the opposite direction of Hazel. I had a free period so I was going to hang out with Jay and a couple other friends at the picnic tables outside.

When I got there they were already all there.

"Hey Victor. " Jay said.
"Hey y'all. "

First there is Jay aka my best friend since 1st grade. He's the best. Next there is Axel he's been my friend since 7th grade and he's pretty cool. He is 6'1 and has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes to match. Then lastly there is Gael he's been my friend for a year and he's nice we mess with him a lot and we always introduce him as the baby of the group to other people. He has long wavy black hair and grey eyes and he's 5'9.

"So how's life... And how's the girl." I smiled when he brought that up.
"Oh ya I totally forgot about her. " Gael said while Axel shook his head in disappointment.
"Good, everything is great. What about y'all."
"Same." Gael and Axel said.

"And you Jay? "
"Hmm, " he said looking confused. "Sorry I spaced out. "
It's fine I was just asking how are you doing. "
"Oh, ya I'm good"
"That's good."

"Soooo guys what are y'all doing on Saturday?" Gael asked.

I thought for a minute and came up with nothing. " Nothing that I know of."
Jay and Axel said nothing as well.

"Ok... I'm having a party on Saturday because my parents will be out of town."

"We'll be there then." Jay said on behalf of Axel and I.
"Hey Vic you can invite Hazel." Axel said smirking.
"Just talk to her if y'all wanna meet her and I will invite her but she may not come."

"Ok we will." Jay said.
"Talk to her at lunch which is in ten minutes."

We talked about random stuff for the rest of our free period. The bell rang and we all made our way to the cafeteria. We got lunch and sat at our usual table. I put my back pack on the seat next to me reserve g it for Hazel.

Hazel walked into the cafeteria and quickly got her food and made her way to our table.

"Hey babe."
“Hey, how's your day going?”
“It's good. Also my friends want to officially meet you.”
“Ok.”

“Ok guys this is my girlfriend Hazel. Ok Hazel this is Jay, Gael, and Axel.”
“Hey guys. It's nice to finally officially meet y’all.”
“It's nice to meet you too.” Jay said. Jay is definitely the mom of the group.
“Nice to meet you Hazel.” Gael and Axel said.

“I'm having a party on Saturday if you’d like to come. All of us are going.”
“Ok I’ll think about it. Is it fine if I invite two people?”
“Sure.”

We all talked and it seemed like Hazel liked the guys. I saw Hazel sneaking my food off my plate a couple times.

After lunch we all went our separate ways. I have art class next and I’m exceptionally good at it. It's not my favorite but it's not the worst. The worst is definitely world history which is my last hour class.

Hazel is lucky because she has a free period right now. I wish we had a free period together. I think she has a free period with her two best friends and Zach. Zach is kind of her friend but I don’t like him. He’s nice but he's a little too nice to Hazel.

I don’t know but what I do know is that I should be paying attention so that I don’t fail this class too. Hazel is suppose to tutor me later for math.

I can’t fail because if I do then I will get kicked off the hockey team and I don't want that. I’m hoping that I can make a career out of hockey one day and that won’t happen if I fail and get kicked off the team.

By the time I got out of my thoughts the bell rang signaling the last class of the day. World history is boring. I hate learning about it because we won’t use it in real life unless we become historians but I’m definitely not.

Most people just sleep in this class and I am definitely one of those people. I don’t know why I say such bad things about this class if I just sleep anyway.

I guess I drifted off to sleep because I woke up when the bell rang. I gathered my stuff and headed toward Hazel's locker. When I got there she was still slowly making her way to her locker.

“You tired, love?”
“Mhmm.” she hummed barely awake.
“You can sleep in the car. Also we are going to my house so you can tutor me so the car ride will be longer.”
“I totally forgot can you grab my phone from my back pocket and text my mom that I’m going to your house to tutor your dumb ass. Wait, how do you even fail math, that is the easiest class.”
“Hey, that's mean. It's not easy for all of us, okay?” I laughed faintly.

I grabbed her phone and opened it. I went to her mom's contact and texted her. After that I went to my contact and changed my name to ‘My favorite person (heart emoji)’ and laughed at myself.

Hazel’s mom texted back saying ‘ok and be safe’

“She said ok and to be safe.”
“Ok thanks. Can you put my phone back in my pocket.” she said still going through her books to find her bath book.

I put it in there and then she found it.

We made our way to my car. I opened the door for her and then went around and got in. I started the car and started going to my house. Hazel fell asleep within a minute. She sleeps a lot.

We made it to my house and she was still asleep so I had to wake her up.

“Wake up Hazel.” I said softly and she woke up. I was surprised because I spoke so softly.
“Let's go inside Haze.”
“Mhmm” she humed tiredly.

We got inside and went to my room. She went straight to my bed and just fell on it.
“Give me a minute.” she said.
“You're tired, you can go to bed. I'll text your mom that you're staying the night. Before you go to sleep, put a pair of my sweatpants on so I can wash your jeans and you can wear them tomorrow.”
“Ughh okay.”

She went and changed real quick and as soon as she was done she plopped down in the bed and got under the covers. She fell asleep almost instantly. She's so cute when she sleeps.
