"Now get far away from me ", Nathan ordered which I obeyed.

I may be a year older than Nathan but I know he can end me in a twinkle of an eye. My grandma, Caroline, will always warn me not to get on his or his family's bad side.

Maybe asking him if Edna was dead was what pissed him off. But that glare, geez. For a moment there I thought I was already dead.

But was I thinking, this is my chance to get noticed. It's hard to believe but it's true. I've been crushing on Edna for a long time now. Don't get me wrong but that is the main reason why I became friends with Nathan.

I took a step closer, and another, and another. I watched him whisper something into Edna's ear. I made to take another step but the door was thrown open with a loud bang.

I turned to the door and saw this creature. It looked like a dog but with extra skeletal frame work. And it's head was a bit divided and also a scorpion tail.

The creature snarled at Mrs Kimberly and pounced on her.

She caught it mid air and burned its heart region with her lasers.

The creature screeched in a high pitch and dropped. She dropped the carcass and pushed the door close.

Nathan stood up slowly and walked towards his mother.

The door flew open again and in came another of those creatures.

Both of them lasered the creature to ash and rushed to the door and pushed it tight.

Another bang came on the door but Nathan and his mother held it tight. It kept on coming. Hundreds of that thing might be out there and two of the Kimberlys is not enough.

I moved towards Edna and bent over to her. I felt her temperature and it was cold.

"Edna! ", I called out with a low voice.

I turned to the door and Nathan had his eyes on me. I could have sworn that the heat on my palm was his lasers but it was not.

Edna's temperature was escalating spontaneously. Smoke was coming out of her skin.

Nathan still had his eyes on me but his countenance was different. He was also as shocked as I am at the rising smoke from Edna.

Soon, Edna was on fire – real blueish yellow flames. It rose to a height and went out as soon as it started but she was now covered in ash from head to toe.

Nathan left the door and ran towards us but he was looking at his sister.
