As I lay dozing underneath the fragrant rose bushes, I heard a creaking nose coming from a different direction than where I had entered. I slowly sat up, turning my head in the direction so I could hear a bit better but nothing new reached my ears.
"Hm...." I mumbled to myself before getting to my feet and starting in the direction of the sound. What if there was another gate that was open and the wolves had gotten in?! That would be pretty terrifying, but I couldn't hear any wolves. At least not nearby...
After making my way past the other bushes that stood in my way I continued forward, a chill settling into my skin as a large shadow covered me. I took a few more steps forward before my hand bumped into something wooden which produced the creaking noise from before.
A door. That's what this was, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out who would put a door in the middle of the woods. Oh well, it must have been the same person who made the garden...
I slowly pushed the door open and step inside the doorway, tilting my head as I hear some pattering sounds moving away from me. Was it a child, or just someone who was smaller?
"Hello? Is someone there?" I call, keeping a hand in front of me as I head in the direction of the footsteps. "I don't mean to intrude, but I've apparently gotten very lost.." I tilt my head and wait to see if there's a response from anywhere. And....nothing. I continue walking forward, pressing my fingers against a wall and trailing them along it as I walk, soon finding another door. I open it and tilt my head in a little, checking if there's any movement.
The only thing coming from the room is the crackling of a fire, which sounds quite welcoming compared to the chilly silence of the rest of the place. I make my way toward the warmth promised by the fire.
"Wah!" In my rush I neglected to check if anything was in front of me, resulting in an almost knocked over arm chair. Fortunately I've done this so often that my reflexes to catch things is perfect and I quickly restore the chair to its proper position.
I move carefully around it and instead decide to settle comfortably on the rug nearer to the fire place to get warm. For whatever reason, I felt that the chair had a foreboding presence to it, almost as if there was someone sitting there, but hey, it could just be my imagination. It's hard not to imagine things when you can't see anything else.
I looked toward the fire as I relaxed little bit, leaning against my bag that if brought with me. I was still tired, so dozing off again sounded good until I heard the murmur of voices nearby. I stayed relaxed, tilting my head only slightly to get a better hearing on the words that were being said.
"So cute...come from?"
"...don't know, maybe....didn't pick me....see."
"What will the master think?!"
I could only distinguish three voices, a female and two males and only one was loud enough to hear clearly. It was interesting because the loudest sounded the most worried. The worry should have made me worried, which is what would happen for most people. Instead I became more curious.
I shifted and looked in the direction of the voices.
"Excuse me, but could you tell me where I am? And who you are, and who this master of yours is?" My head tilts a little as I hear the voices freeze and slight movement as I feel their gazes on me.
"Ah...Monsieur, please forgive our rudeness. We thought you were resting by the fire." A voice with a French accent speaks up and I nod slightly with a smile. "Please, allow me to welcome you to the Manor."

[] sorry I haven't published anything in awhile, I wasn't sure how to write this part out. The next part will be out soon so I hope you like it. If you have any suggestions then please comment:)[]
