"Thank you," I muttered, closing my eyes, as my arms wrapped around his shoulders.

A broad smile of rhapsodies had stuck itself onto my face, promising that it would never wither off. But it had started to, when I didn't feel any response from him. Eto Yasushi. And I had been suddenly snapped back to reality. A fortuitous revelation that he hadn't been the same as me.

"Oh... I'm sorry," I asseverated, the wisps of my dialogue blending in with the thin air. "I got carried away."

As I pulled away, I saw him. Even more demonstrably than the first time. His eyes were the softest brown besmirched by the infusion of greens - like moss on a rock. And they held the tale of a lifetime.

But before I could back away any further, his arms were around me. His embrace had been volitional, and condoling. Analogous to the sound that the billows made as it lapped against the shore.

"It's alright." His gravelly tone had set just the right pillar that I'd needed to hold onto, and my arms inadvertently wrapped around him as well.

"I think... I like you, Yasushi." The confession was more of an assurance to myself. "It's too soon, too fast. I know..." Like that statement thrown unceremoniously would make me swallow it. "You don't have to say anything. It's... I just said it s-"

"Shh," he prompted.

All the dialogues that should've been exchanged between us remained unavowed as his face drew closer to mine. His hand played along my cheek, resting right above my jaw so delicately that I could've sworn he perceived me as fine china.

His warm breath tickled my skin, as his face drew closer. I had never fantasized about all this - with him; I had never even thought of being together with him, in the first place. After all, I was an anomaly. I would always be one. But now that it was happening, I didn't want to feign ignorance. I wanted this more than I could ever dare to admit.

Letting my intuition take control, I let my arms wander free until they landed on ends of his hair, tugging his face closer to mine. His shut eyes snapped open, and his lips parted in confusion, still processing what I had been doing.

Locking my lips with his, he followed pursuit as my eyes fluttered close together. A spark grew right along the pit of my stomach, making me feel a little giddy all over. His scent wasn't anything exceptional in particular; it was the same smell that I'd first encountered. The wispy mint commingled with the smell of trees- his signature. Our breaths mingled into a strange concoction; one that had a fusion of emotions - hesitation, euphoria, passion. And most importantly, a want.

His forehead rested against mine, as we separated; a infinitesimal gap between us. "Maybe you should work on changing that think to know. It should have been phrased as 'I know I like you, Yohan'," he chuckled.

I hoped I could find home in someone. And thankfully, I did.

"Why can't we all get a swoon-worthy happy ending?"
