"Tell me why we're going through the crater again?" D-Structs asked, looking around nervously.

"I'm telling you D, this is a short-cut." I answered calmly. "Besides, it's night so there won't be any scraptors, right?"

"It's not the scraptors I'm worried about." he mumbled.

But before I could ask what he meant by that, thunder rumbled as scrapadactlys leaped from their nests and flew towards the skies.

"Looks like a storm's coming in." I observed. "We need to find some shelter."

The other dinotrux looked really worried. I decided to take charge.

"Listen everyone!" I yelled. Everyone looked at me. "Look! There's a forest that way! We can take shelter and set up camp there! Tomorrow we'll find some more ore and take a break for maybe a few hours! We're all tired and hungry and I don't want to leave anyone behind! Understood?!"

Everyone nodded and we made our way into the forest. It was dark and quiet and creepy. We went slowly so we wouldn't wake-up any shockarachids.

"How did-twitch!-you do that?" asked Skrap-it, jumping on my head.

"Do what?" I asked.

"You know, get people to listen to you."

"Oh, it's easy." I answered. "You just have to have confidence and stay calm."

"Okay," Skrap-it got back on D-Structs's head. "I can do that."

I lied down next to D and closed my eyes. I nudged him a bit before falling asleep.

Earn sat next to me as we looked at some dragonflopters flying past. I let one land on my finger and then let it fly into the air. The flowers shone in the sunlight and bright yellow butterflies flew all around.

"Let's go, Tiara." Earn said, getting up from the bench.

I followed him to a white blanket neatly laid down on the ground. On top of the blanket were a picnic basket and two adults happily sitting and looking at the many colored flowers. Earn sat next to the lady and the man looked at me. His face was blurred and I couldn't tell who he was. I uncomfortably sat next to him, feeling a bit shy, when he turned towards me and hugged me.

"How was your day, my crowned princess?" he asked me.

My crowned princess? Okay, something was wrong. There was only one person in the world who called me that.

"Dad?" I asked, surprised.

The sky crumbled. The ground shook. Everything was still and silent. I couldn't talk, I couldn't move, inside I was screaming, "Mom! Dad! No! Don't leave me! DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN!!!"

And then I woke up. I gasped for air as D-Structs softly snored beside me. It was just a dream. After calming down a bit, I knew I would never be able to go back to sleep. I softly nudged D-Structs as he sleepily opened their eyes.

"What is it, Tiara?" D asked.

"I need you to come with me." I answered.

We drove deeper into the forest, towaconstricters stalking us with sneaky eyes. When we finally got far away from the herds, I started talking to D-Structs.

"Have you ever lost something that's important to you?" I asked.

D looked at me strangely. "What kind of question is that?"

"I had a pretty full life before I met you." I admitted.

"Same," he answered.

"No, like, my world used to be completely nuts." I looked down. "And it kinda still is."

"Like I said, same." D-Structs looked at me sincerely, a look I didn't think I'd ever get from him.

"You wouldn't get it." I mumbled.

D thought about it for a minute and looked at me with that look again.

"There was once a kid, a t-trux, and he had green paint sprayed on him to make him look like he was glitching. He was always happy and he didn't have a care in the world."

I looked at him curiously. I couldn't tell if he was talking about himself or someone else.

"One night, he was so curious about what was on the moon that he launched himself with a catapult that his mom built. He went so high and he was so sure he would make it."

"Did he?!" I asked excitedly.

"No." D-Structs said as if he was admitting something really embarrassing.

"Ouch." I commented.

"Yeah, and the moral is," D-Structs put on a very wise face. "Don't steal your mom's catapult or else face the consequences."

We both laughed, but D-Structs stopped and got a sad look on his face and looked down to try to hide it. I stopped and looked at him worriedly.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's just." his voice was shaking a bit now. "I know the answer to your question."

"Oh." I answered.

I moved a bit closer to him and moved my head up to his neck. D put his head over mine and we stayed in this position for what seemed like minutes.
