After a while of talking about irrelevant stuff whilst sat very uncomfortably on the muddy ground, we got up to take a random walk.

We all stayed silent for a while, only looking ahead but I exchanged a few well-timed glances with Phil as Chris and PJ were giggling, walking a tiny bit behind us.

"Hey guys!" Phil shouted to them, "Stop flirting!"

"Hey!" PJ shouted back jokingly "and anyway it's Chris flirting."

"Shut up! I'm hardly flirting anyway." Chris replied.

"So you were flirting?" I smirked to Chris, who looked at PJ who was laughing along with Phil at my comment.

Chris rolled his eyes at me, trying to hold his laughter and I did the same until we all burst out laughing. The sound of our laughter seemed to fill the hills around us, making the fields seem much less empty.

As we strolled along silently, I started to notice the little details in this huge place. The way the grass tilted to the side slightly as the wind gently blows. The way the hills in the distance don't perfectly aline, the diversity of flowers around our feet. I never noticed natures beauty in this much detail before. The business of life really stops you from taking in the tiny details of everything around you.

We got to another old wooden gate, this one looked much older and much more worn, it looked like the gate had been climbed over more than opened and actually walked through.

I reached out to open the gate when I felt air rush past me as Chris ran and jumped over the gate quickly. "TADA!" He shouted triumphantly and threw his arms in the air, looking surprised when all he got was a laugh out of us.

"You guys are no fun." Chris whined like a little child.

"More like you are too hyper." PJ rolled his eyes but chuckled.

Chris sighed heavily and pulled a pouty-face like a child, but Chris obviously can't keep a straight face and started chuckling along with the rest of us.

PJ followed Chris and swiftly jumped over the gate. Jokingly, Phil rolled his eyes and opened the gate. He stepped through, his Nike trainers making a crunching sound as his feet touched the dried mud beneath him. I followed him right after and slammed the gate shut behind me quickly.

"Where are we even going anyway?" Chris whined. The others looked at me, as if for an answer but the truth is I really don't know. However, just walking can talk your mind of things so it wouldn't really matter. "Nowhere." I calmly replied. I turned and saw the shocked expressions on the three other boys' faces.

"Come on!" I started again. "What can be so bad about just walking?"

Again, all I got was the same expression from all 3 of them. Disbelief maybe?

The sky, at this point, was being riddled with dark looking clouds dotted across the sky, and one giant grey cloud in the distance to the left of us. Phil and I exchanged a glance after we both saw the cloud in unison.

"Guys," Phil spoke up, his usually quiet and soft voice was now louder and concern could be heard clearly in his voice "we should go find a shelter or something, it looks like a thunderstorm is coming."

PJ opened his mouth to speak, but at the same time a crack of thunder made us all jump. At that point, we ran. We ran through this field, into another ont, this time full of corn. And again we ran through the corn field, jumped over the gate and ended up in a place that resembled a small forest. Even though the rain was now heavily hitting against the leaves, making a deafening sound' the birds were still chirping in all their glory. The noise made it impossible to think about anything, all that was focused on our minds was finding something to sit in to hide from the rain.

Suddenly, the next lightning bolt cracked, illuminating the sky around us and again, making us jump out of our skins. Still running, I heard a tiny yelp from behind us, but Chris and PJ (who were in front of me) didn't seem to her. Turning around, I saw Phil lying on the leaf-littered ground, clearly in pain. I wondered whether to shout Chris and Pj or not, but I didn't and ran to Phil.

"What happened?" I asked him as I quickly kneeled next to him. Another lightning bolt lit up the sky through the trees, also illuminating his pale face. In that small moment, all the details of his face that I hadn't noticed before magically appeared. The yellow and green details in his eyes were mesmerising. But I didn't state longer, I didn't want to seem creepy.

"The thunder that made me jump and I tripped over my shoelaces and I hurt my ankle." His voice was not loud anymore, but still quivering.

"Urm..." I began, looking as awkward as hell. "I'm sorry but..."

I stopped my sentence and pulled him into a kiss. To my surprise, he didn't pull away. We just stayed there, locked in the moment.
