The uniform fit perfectly.

After drying off in a dressing room(?) that Chaos sent him to, Percy now wears the clothes he was told to try on. It was a black long sleeve shirt and dark cargo pants with pockets and attachments able to hold enough weapons to make James Bond look like a hall monitor. Even the combat boots they gave him had small compartments at the heels and along the laces. His pockets and holsters are empty however, but he's not complaining too much.

Officers in uniforms similar to his with the belts, holsters, and different colored bands around their left upper arms walk past the two, bowing their heads in acknowledgement to the entity beside him. Chaos smiles at each one of them, a light that Percy can only identify as pride shines within his starry eyes. It would have been great to see and all, if only he weren't a salt grain away from yelling hysterically.

"You told me it was only my appearance that was changed in the Void." Percy gets through his gritted teeth. "I can't control the water anymore, Chaos. What the Hades is going on?"

"We believed we got to you before the Void started eating away at your being. We were unaware of your demigod abilities being stripped due to the lack of testing in that parameter. I'm sorry Percy, it wasn't on our minds then." As much as Percy wanted to keep going, to start yelling and take his frustration out on everything in close proximity to him, he pauses at the genuine defeat and guilt within Chaos' voice.

"Will I ever be back to normal?" He whispers, not quite looking for an answer, but a small part of him sparks with fear.

Chaos looks at him, his expression pinched. "We don't know, but we'll be working our very best to make sure you are as close as possible."

They walk in silence the majority of the way. Other than the occasional eyebrow raise at Percy's dead-like appearance, the trip is as smooth as it could be.

Percy has no idea who this 'someone' Chaos wants to introduce to him, but from the information he's gathered so far, they must be important.

"Another thing." He says after several minutes. "I talked to Saros about being able to tell my family that I'm alright. When will that be possible?"

"I'm sorry Perseus, but I cannot allow that." Percy's stride falters, but Chaos continues to keep his pace. A spark of anger sets his calm demeanor to flames. Percy takes a deep breath to keep from saying anything dangerous.

"Why can't I contact home?" He speeds up to walk in level with him. "I have a family that's probably worried about me, Chaos. I can't just disappear off the surface of Earth and not expect them to worry about me."

"By contacting your family and friends, you may be putting them in more danger." Chaos doesn't even bother looking towards him as they continue through the corridors. "Perseus—"

"Percy." He snaps. "My name is Percy." Maybe he shouldn't have done that, but he was starting to get sick of not having any control over his life. Chaos finally turns his head to look at the young man as they keep walking.

"Percy." Chaos drawls with a sharp expression. "I am normally not one for pointing out the obvious, however, your death was not simply an accident. Something or something had intentionally sought you out and wanted you not dead, but faded. As Creator and overseer of the universe, I cannot let an incident like this simply pass by like Sunday's newspaper. This is serious, and I need to ensure the safety of the universe before anything else."

Despite the bubbling anger within him, Percy doesn't respond. The thing is, he understands that, but the idea of leaving behind his loved ones without some form of closure scares him more than anything else. Call him selfish, but even in knowing the reason now, he still feels the urge to tell them that he's safe, that he's alive—
