Storms and apologies part 2

Jude's POV:

Carden is behind me. I freeze. Staring wide eyed into the toilet bowl. Why is he here? Has he come to tell at me more? Or apologize?

I realised it was probably the latter. I had heard him take a step toward me after the fight. He had wanted to apologize.

Still, I could barely move. I turned my head a little to see him, standing behind me. My hair delicately clasped in his large, lean hands. "I-" He stuttered. "Jude I'm so-" I squeezed my eyes shut as his words hit me again

'you're not irreplaceable'
'I will kick you out if you don't-'

I tried to block the words as I stood from my crouch. I didn't even look at him as I passed him and went out into the kitchen.

I expected him to go back to his room, but the sound of approaching footsteps meant he wasn't backing down. "Jude, please" Carden rasped
I turn.  "Carden, it's fine. What you said was true. You don't need to apologize"

He took a breath and stepped a bit closer. "No, I do. Please. I didn't mean any of what I said. Of course I won't replace you or kick you out. I was just angry, i-"

I cut him off. "Carden it's fine, I get it" but a little bit of me warmed, he wasn't going to kick me out.

"No." He continued walking towards where I am against the kitchen counter until we shared breath. He braced himself with one hand against the counter next to me. "You don't understand, I am so sorry"

I suddenly realised how close we were. My breathing became ragged and anticipation began between my legs. He was so close, his raven curls hung about his face. He was biting his lip. He suddenly looked into my eyes. The gold rim around his eyes seemed to glow. "I need to show you." He said, before leaning down to press a feather light kiss on my lips.
