I walked closer to Angel's Share, hoping to get one of the specialties of Mond, a drink called 'Death after Noon'. I definitely need one today after sitting at my desk for hours doing a part of Jean's paperwork. But when I got closer, normally I would hear and see laughing, loud talking, and many people outside, but when I got past the fountain the tavern was uncharacteristically quiet. I walked inside and saw Diluc, drinking a glass of something that didn't look like grape juice. He was looking down at his glass with an emotional face. I placed a finger on his chin and brought his face level to mine, "Hello my brother, fancy seeing you drinking today?"

"Kae?" He looked up.

I leaned on the counter with my elbows, "Interesting to see a man who usually prefers grape drinking wine. How strange," I grabbed the glass and sloshed the liquid around, "Death After Noon, I thought you would go for a lighter drink Diluc."

"I miss you, Kae." He blurted out.

I was surprised for a moment but when he looked up and said, "Are you mad at me?"
"No, I'm not mad at you." I answered calmly.

He probably won't remember this tomorrow so there's no point of telling him anything important. I looked at him and he looked more tired than usual, at least not as tired as when I saw him a week ago. "You haven't been here for a while so I thought you didn't like me."

I laughed, "I've been busy, now if you'll be quiet, I'll take you home."
"I'm tired."

He fell asleep, "DIluc, wake up."

I sighed, he was fast asleep, heavy, and also his vision liked to burn me. Fantastic. I turned the lamp off and poured his half empty glass away. I picked him up and shut the door behind me. I almost dropped him a few times while I was walking up the stairs to the Favonius headquarters and went to the dorms. When I walked up the stairs past Jean's office, someone was waiting for me, "Kaeya!"

I looked down, expecting a little girl dressed in red, "Hi Klee, what have you been up to?"
"Klee made new bombs with Albedo, he told me not to use them near Jean though."
"That's nice, don't get in trouble with Jean."
She looked up and asked, "Why is Mr. Diluc in your arms?"
"Oh, he's not feeling well and I didn't have time to bring him to his home, " I didn't mention to Klee that he was drunk.

Klee poked Diluc and touched his hair. "Want to help me when he wakes up?"
"Okay! Klee can help."
Klee followed me as I went to my room, "Klee, I'm going to take a shower, can you go get some water for Mr. Diluc?"
"I'll go get the water now, Mr. Kaeya!"

I ruffled her hair a bit, "Thanks Klee."

I took Diluc's coast off and pulled his shoes, socks, and gloves off. I put him on my bed and pulled the covers over him. I went into the bathroom and set the water temperature, I untied my hair, stripped, and got into the shower, The warm water relaxed my tense muscles, I quickly washed my hair and body and got out the shower. "I forgot to use the hair mask in my hair, fuck." I mumbled.

I got my hair wet and worked the mask in, I pulled on a white shirt and some black shorts and carefully put my eyepatch on to cover the black and orangish-yellow eye, a burn streched from around the eye and stopped far enough from my nose for the eyepatch to perfectly conceal it. "Klee?"

"I'm here!"

She was on my desk drawing on a pad of paper. The glass of water was on my nightstand with a towel. "Thanks for the water Klee."

"You're welcome!"
"Did you shower yet?"
"Klee showered after getting water."
"Okay, I'll tuck you in, let's go to sleep,"I walked to the door.

"Can Klee sleep with you?" Klee asked quietly.
"Okay, but Mr. Diluc is here." I gestured to him

"Let's have a sleepover! Can we buy sleeping bags?"
"Klee, why don't we sleep on the couch?"
"Okay!"

"Let's go get blankets from your room okay?" I opened the door.

"Okay!"

I opened the door to Klee's room and grabbed the blankets and her pillow. Klee started talking about her adventures today while I set up the couch for her, "So Klee fought some hilichurls today! There was one that could shoot fire, but Klee blew up his bow with Klee's bombs. Albedo and Sucrose got the rest. Klee wants to fight some hilichurls with Razor too but I don't know when he'll be coming by."

I tucked her in and she yawned, "Klee is tired."

Within minutes she fell asleep. I sighed and washed the mask off my hair and put my earrings back on, they were dry now. I opened the window and sat down, my legs hung out of the window and the wind blew through my hair. I was just enjoying the wind blowing through my hair and wondering if I should go down and see the stars. But Klee was here, I glanced at her and realized it'll be stupid to leave a child in a room with someone that she didn't know that well. Not to mention that someone wasn't exactly talking or moving other than breathing. I don't know how long I sat there but the sun was almost rising and the night winds had slowed to a gentle cool breeze. "Kaeya? Why am I here?"

I turned around and answered, "I'll go get you a pill for your hangover, you were completely drunk yesterday, " He sighed, "Be back soon dear brother."

I closed the window quickly and pulled my coat on. I went out the door and went to the kitchen and grabbed a pill, I didn't keep some in my room anymore since I didn't drink as much anymore, usually only when I needed to slip some information from bandits or treasure hoarders. I made my way back to my room hastily, determined to make sure no one, especially not the guards, from seeing their Captain in shorts. I got into my room, and put the pill on the nightstand before closing the door, "Drink the water and take this. You know how to take a pill, right?"

"Why wouldn't I know Sir Kaeya?"
"No need for formal speaking, Diluc. Now I know you'd rather be anywhere else but sadly I'm here." I laughed.

"Ugh, this headache is horrible." He rubbed his temples.
"I'm going to make something for everyone, hopefully Noelle hasn't, she's rather overworked. Do you want something or are you afraid I'm gonna poison it?" I smirked.

"Make whatever. "

He turned around on his side and went back to sleep. I sighed, maybe I could get one of the maids to wash my bed. I went to the bathroom and changed into my usual clothing and styled my hair. I pulled on my gloves and snapped them in-place. I fluffed up the fur and attached it to my coat. I went to the kitchen and gathered ingredients for french toast sticks. Jean didn't approve of sweets but everyone liked french toast. I got some thick slices of bread that were a day old. Amber got some at the bakery while it was on-sale. I mixed eggs, milk, and some heavy cream. I also put some cinnamon and sugar in a dish and mixed it together. I cut the bread to the right size and dipped it into the egg mixture and fried it. I repeated that for a few minutes until I could stack them into a big jenga tower. I heard some footsteps and Diluc rounded the corner into the kitchen. "Kaeya, I'm sorry."

"Are you still drunk Diluc?" I teased, it helped with hiding how shocked I was.
He pulled me into a hug, "I don't usually get touchy but I'm sorry. "
We stood in that position while the french toast sticks almost burned, "I better get the french toast off the pan. "

I rushed to stack the french toast. It was leaning to one side. 

"Hey Diluc, watch the tower, I'm getting Klee. If it falls it's your fault."

I walked out of the room and heard Diluc sigh. I went upstairs and opened the door to my room, "Klee, wake up. I made french toast."

"French toast?" Klee got up instantly."Yeah, now why don't you go get Jean and Lisa, I'll go wake up Amber and Eula. Maybe Albedo will join us today."

"Okay! Klee will do Klee's best to get them." Klee said.

I got her blankets and pillows and we walked to her room together. I opened the door and said, "Get dressed Klee, Mr. Diluc and I will be waiting for you in the kitchen. "Okay!"

I left the room.
