Kaeya is kinda like idk Diluc's replacement in the knights, so I was like yeah, kinda feels like he's a second choice.

It's Always You

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

It was always you over me. I was never a choice until you were gone. Four years and a half, all I've accomplished is replacing you. Scars will heal overtime, but they will always leave a mark. Four years and a half, the person I've loved, loved you before you left and resorted to loving me instead. I was never a choice until you were gone. Up until now I've never realized how much we hate each other. Family broken over a life of lies, my life full of lies and broken hearts. Pretending to love someone you've never loved. Being too late to save the only one who has ever treated me like a parent. "You tried to kill a child!"

"So I did." I answered.
"Why did you do that Kaeya?"
"It's clear, you aren't meant to be a Knight."
"We can't spare anyone Jean, we are already overworked."
"Tell me, Kaeya, why did you try to kill a child."
I laughed, "I wanted to die, you know, I almost died. It wasn't enough to kill someone."
"Kaeya what do you mean?"
"I want to die, it's hard to believe that I wasn't able to die," I sighed like I was sad.
"Why do you want to die?"
"Life isn't worth it, if you're the second choice," I muttered.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing."
"We'll talk about this on another day, you're going to stay in your house and not go out until we are ready to talk to you."
"Sure, at least let me have Ransom."
"Ransom?"
"What is wrong with you Kaeya!"
"Ransom, my horse. Nightmare wants his mate."
"Oh," Jean answered.
I was led to my house and I smiled, "It's been a while since a house has been home."

I opened the door and locked the door behind me. I quickly changed and threw on a white shirt, wore my fur, tied my hair into a high ponytail. I pulled on my gloves, I grabbed a belt and clipped my vision to it, I pulled on a corset and tied it tightly. I grabbed my high heel boots and put them on. I knew Lisa was most likely sent to interrogate me, I pet her and let her into the stable. I laughed as I went inside, I went to my dresser and grabbed a black coat, the sky turned dark, my favorite time to dance among the stars. I climbed over the wall and jumped out, I was near a place where guards weren't usually stationed since my house was there, Jean must have forgotten. With a swipe of my hand I froze the water, I went as far as I could before doing it again.

Freedom. I sat down and thought out loud, "Four years and a half years, and all I've accomplished is replacing you, and losing those who I thought were my friends."

"Kaeya! Why did you leave your house?"
"Stars."
"I wonder where Eula is," I questioned.
"EUla?"
"We were supposed to meet here. Now Jean, I'd like it if I could talk to Eula by myself."
"FIne."

Jean went to hide behind a rock. Eula appeared and said, "Hey, the stars are pretty tonight."
"Anyways what's up Eula?"
"Just wondering if they caught you didn't they?"
"I just felt abyssal magic, I thought it was a monster hidden with abyssal magic, you know I can sense that stuff."
"Rosaria should be coming soon." Eula suddenly said.

I smiled and lay down, looking at the stars. I heard water freezing, "There she is."

"Hey Eula and Kaeya, so you need help?"
"Nope, just wanted someone to hear me rant."
"We're always here."

So I spilled.
