I open the map. The route seems easy enough. It looks like I have to go north through the forest. I put the map away, and start walking. As I'm walking, I think about what gap happened. Then reality sinks in. I'm a princess from a long-lost kingdom. The only home I had ever known is now under war. I'm practically homeless. I pull out a small lantern Aunt Daisy packed me. I light it up. After walking for a long time, I reach a small clearing. I decide to camp out here for tonight. I sit down beside a tree and put my bag and lantern on the grounds. From inside the bag, I pull out two blankets and a pillow. I put together a makeshift bed. Looks like I'm sleeping on the ground tonight. After getting comfortable, it takes me a long time to fall asleep. Once I do, the truth hunts me.

In the morning, I spread the map on the ground to study it. After going north, I have to go east for a bit then back north. Once I memorize the way, I pack everything up and set out again. This reminds me of the story I was writing. Speaking of, I reach inside the backpack and pull the letter from my parents and occupy myself by reading it.

Even after sunset, I decide to keep walking. With the light from the lantern guiding me. I feel so tired but I know I have to keep walking. Awoooooo! What the heck is that? Awoooooooo! There it is again. I listen hard. The truth hits me like a punch to the stomach. Wolves! I start running with all my might. The flame inside the lantern goes out. Great, just what I need right now. I keep running until I can't hear anything. I stop and double over. That was too close. I decide to sleep here tonight. I set up camp quickly, and drift off into soundless sleep.
