The Lost Princess (DISCONTINUED)

Chapter Two

I start running back to the house.

"Aunt Daisy? Uncle Max? Is everything okay? What's going on?"

Once I reach the house, I start opening the door but someone beats me to it.

"Uncle Max!"

"Ivy!" we say at the same time.

"Oh Ivy! You're alright! Thank God!" Uncle Max pulls me into a hug.

"Your aunt and I were so worried."

"Uncle Max, what's going on?"

"Come inside, your aunt and I will explain everything."

I step inside, and Uncle Max closes the door behind me. He points to the kitchen. I start walking there. Inside, Aunt Daisy is looking out the window. She's holding a letter in her hand. She turns towards me.

"Ivy, it's time you knew the truth."

"Let me get this straight," I've been sitting at the kitchen table to prevent any injuries. After what I heard I'm sure I would've fainted.

"I'm a princess?" I stand up and start pacing.

"My parents are in hiding, nobody knows where they are. I lost my kingdom to The Kingdom of The Emeralds who are now declaring war on us?!"Aunt Daisy reaches out for my hand but I shrug her off.

"Now because war is happening, you and Uncle Max have to go help?!"

"Ivy, please calm down. I know that this is a lot to take in. However, the priority now is to get you to safety. Here," Aunt Daisy hands me a bag.

"Max drew a map for you. It's in the bag. I also packed some food and any supplies you might need. Inside, you'll also find a letter from your parents. Read it once you are far away from here."

"But," I start to protest.

"No buts Ivy. You have to go. On the map, a cave is marked. Get to the cave. Good luck sweetheart." Aunt Daisy hugs me and places a kiss on my forehead. Uncle Max also hugs me and tells me to be safe.

"Stay in the cave. Once all this is over, Max and I will meet you there."

Aunt Daisy hugs me one last time, then pushes me out the door. Outside, I see the sunset and think: What am I supposed to do now?
