Back when I was a kid, I used to LOVE watching SkyDoesMinecraft. I loved everything he put out, from his Jail Break videos, to his mod reviews, to his try not to laugh challenges. To be fair, who didn't? Back from like 2012-2015, everyone loved him, and his channel was blowing up.
One day, however, everything changed. All my love I had for SkyDoesMinecraft and his channel up and left like my ex girlfriend after I got beat over the head by an evil dildo. I digress, that's a story for another time. Anyways, something horrific and terrible happened to me because of that channel. Something that I will never forget, nor ever fully heal from.
It was a calm Sunday morning on a cool autumn's day. I was dreading going back to school the next day and, like many other people my age, I sat down and watched some SkyDoesMinecraft videos in order to ease my stress. Most of the videos were pretty normal. They were your usual jail break shenanigans, if I remember correctly.
But then, I saw it. There was a strange video I had never seen nor heard of before. The title read 'I know where you live,' and the thumbnail was equally disturbing. It was all black, with the SkyDoesMinecraft avatar standing in the centre, illuminated only by a sole, white light shining down from above his head. The image was angled slightly, allowing me to see his eyes behind his glasses. They were all black with two little red dots where his irises and pupils should have been. Looking below the title, I saw that it apparently had 0 views and was somehow created 666 years ago.
I was intimidated, yet intrigued, so I clicked on the video. Why I did that, I shall never know, but I still regret that decision to this day. The video started out pretty tame. It consisted of Sky standing out on a desert in a Minecraft world, staring into the camera. He began to speak, saying that something terrible would happen to anyone who watched the video. Little me, being only ten or eleven, thought it was a buildup to some sort of joke.
Once he finished his warning, I heard a loud shuffling that was accompanied by heavy breathing. Sky began to panic, and I could hear him scrambling to get close to the mic.
"Oh god! He's... c-coming! Please, click off this video! No...no...no!" he shrieked.
The entire screen went blood red shortly after his final plea. I jolted in my seat, as a deep shade of red took up the entire screen, yet I hadn't set the video to play in full screen. Accompanying the colour was a loud scream that mixed and faded into audio distortion so loud I tore my headphones off my head. It sounded like a mixture between static and the bass boost sound effect you find in a lot of memes these days.
After maybe ten seconds of this, the red faded out and in its place was Sky's avatar standing in the Nether. This confused me, as the Nether was not added to Minecraft 666 years ago. What was more, his avatar looked different. His arms were covered in blood, and his sunglasses were gone, revealing his hyper realistic, night-black eyes that looked like empty voids, illuminated solely by the small red dots in their centres.
"Hello, Hubert." Sky said, his voice now noticeably distorted.
I began to scramble and panic. Hubert is my name. Then, the demonic Minecraft man began to speak.
"Seventeen, four sixty-seven, one hundred and seventy three, sixty nine. Nice," The demonic Sky said, seemingly reading from something.
I jolted out of my chair. That was my IP address, which I remembered from when I told a guy to go fuck himself on Call of Duty. The panic truly began to set in from there. Somehow, this video knew my IP address. What else did it know?
"July twenty sixth, two thousand and two, four twenty in the morning," the voice read.
That was my birthday. "How do you know that?" I cried at the computer.
