Your POV

"Can anyone tell me what the power house of the cell is?" I asked my class of 8th graders, one boy finally raised there hand. "The mitochondria?", I smiled and nodded while writing the answer down on the board. I threw a piece of candy, "Yes good job Edward, now class as you know there's a rally today for a special announcement so I'm going to let you go but please be quiet through the halls" I walked over to the door and opened it. My students all rushed out and of course started blabbering to each other. I sighed and shook my head.

As we passed a hall 4 small figures caught my attention, "What are you kids doing out here!you were supposed to be in my class!" I scolded them. Mike pushed a girl with blonde hair and a pink dress forward. "We were just showing my cousin around, she's from Sweden" he smiled nervously, I couldn't help but stare at the girl with curiosity. I knew her from somewhere, but where?. I checked my watch, "Right well next time do that during lunch. C'mon we have a rally to get to" I walked with them and found a place in the bleachers to sit.

Half way through the speech two kids, who were known to bully, started saying mean things about Will. Obviously since I'm a teacher it's not like I can kick their asses so instead I tell them to be quiet and pay attention. The pep rally went smoothly, it wouldn't have been better if it wasn't about my missing nephew Will. As we were exiting the gym Mike confronted the boys about their behavior. "That freak is better if dead!" One of them shouted, "Do not talk about my nephew like that young man!" I shouted back causing students to stop and stare.

One of them looked like he was about to punch Mike but suddenly stopped in his tracks. We al were confused until we looked down and saw the rather embarrassing cause. Pee..He had peed his pants, I looked over to see Mike's strange little "cousin" wiping her nose which was bleeding. Memories of my years at Hawkins lab came flooding in, "Impossible" I mumbled to myself. I pulled Mike by the arm over to somewhere I bit more private. "Meet me in the park at Peter lane at 4:30 today" I looked over his shoulder before back into his confused eyes, "And being your cousin too". With that I quickly left, school was over so I rushed to my car before all of the parents block me in.

I drove straight to the park and waited. 20 minutes later I saw the group walking up to me, they sat down across from me. "Are we in trouble Mrs. Byers?", I sighed "No no, I just wanted to see if your little cousin here recognized me, Do you remember me 11?". She looked at me curiously and slowly nodded. "You helped me" she mumbled, her voice was a little raspy probably due to the food they served there. I nodded, "Wait you know her?how?", I reached into my coat pocket and brought out a polaroid photo.

The photo was of the staff with the kids for picture day. I was in back of eleven with my hands on her shoulders, "I was your personal doctor and a lab assistant, I worked with you since you were a baby" I smiled fondly from the memories. Eleven took the photo in her hands and stared me. "Why no remember you?", I sighed "After a..incident I decided it was best if I left and worked somewhere else". My gaze fell to the table, "You left me" eleven mumbled in a sad tone. "I didn't want to!, but Dr.Brenner went mad talking about a portal to another world", the kids all stared confused. Dustin was the first to say something, "A portal to another world?how did that happen?!". I frowned, "Eleven opened it some time ago, my..friend Peter got in the way and I think..no I know he's stuck there. I'm fact the night Will went missing I started pulling out all my of research and I'm sure he's there". "What's this world even like?",

I looked to the ground "I don't know, when Dr.Brenner wanted to send people in there I quit. I was unfortunately the top researcher so it took a lot of convincing..and yelling to actually be let go". Mikes shocked face turned to worry "Is Will ok?!Can he survive there?!", I bit my lip "I believe so, I also believe that she is the key to getting him back". Eleven had a small look of determination, "I save Will..and Peter". My heart strained at the mention of his name, maybe I should tell them. "Peter was..is a special friend", Mike raised an eyebrow "He was your boyfriend?". I felt my face immediately heat up "Uh not that kind of special but sorta. He's powerful, almost like you eleven. Im fact we worked together with you, in a way we..raised you.", Eleven's eyes lit up. Mike tilted his head a little "So are you like her mom?", I shrugged "Biologically speaking no but I did raise her for the most part so..I guess. Point is is that you need to be careful if you do find him".

Dustin started to chuckle "So we're really just gonna waltz into this other dimension", Mike nodded "We have to save Will. And your boyfriend". I blushed and struggled to keep a straight face. "I'll give you more instructions later, run on home" I stood up twirling my keys, as I was walking away I felt a small tug on my coat. I turned to see Eleven staring up with hopeful eyes. "Can..can I stay with you..mama", my heart twinged with both pain and happiness. "Of course, come on. Get home safe boys" I yelled and waved.

Eleven slipped her small hand into mine, "Even though Dr.Brenner made me burn all of my things when I quit I still managed to save a small video tape if you'd like to see some of your youth" I started up the truck. She nodded and smiled. Once we were home I brought out a small box from under my bed. I put the tape into the tv and sat next to Eleven who watched closely. "Dr.Brenner surprisingly let us take you home a lot so this recorded here, you were 8 at the time" I informed her. The screen flickered on, it was black but then showed my backyard. Peter stood there in a dull purple shirt and black pants (see pic up top for reference)

"Is it recording?" Peter asked smiling at me, I gave a thumbs up. Eleven was there in a blue dress and white sandals. They were smiling brightly and laughing. "Ok like we practice sweetie" he said in a soft voice while holding out his hands. They held hands and started to dance, the leaves around them shook and eventually started to rise. "It's working!" I yelled from behind the camera, the more they danced the more the leaves danced with them. They need with a sip and all the leaves scattered away from them. I cheered along with them. "That was incredible El!" He hugged her, "Again, papa, again!". He looked at me for approval, "Maybe later El, who's hungry?" I giggled. Peter picked up Eleven and placed her on his shoulders while walking towards me. "We are!" They yelled, the camera cut off.

I turned off the tv and waited for her to say something. After a moment of silence I looked at her, "Eleven, do you have any questions?". She looked at me with furrowed eyebrows and watery eyes. "Is papa ok?" She asked, "I hope so, I'm sure he can't wait to see us again" I pulled her into me. We sat there embracing one another, there was one thing on my mind that I couldn't help but think about.

If he is still alive, I hope he doesn't hate El for what she did to him
