The First Death

I wake up, and play a bit of the pian before finally deciding to get ready. Shuichi and hopefully Kokichi were finally waiting for me near the dining hall. I put on my clothes and brush my teeth, and then I hear "A BODY HAS BEEN DISCOVERED!" in Monokuma's voice.
I rush around, scanning the hall for Shuichi and Kokichi, but there was no sight of any of them. And right on the floor near the dining hall was Akane Owari's dead, lifeless body just sitting there. I was shocked, then I heard a reassuring voice..
"It's okay Kaede," Shuichi said, as I turn my head to him. He smiles at me, but I cant help but remain scared out of my life, as someone was actually murdered. This wasnt a dream, this wasnt a joke, it was a murder.
I barely interacted with Akane and I felt guilty, she seemed like a nice person. But there she was, dead.
Byakuya Togami stared at the body with a bit of a shocked yet he seemed pleased it wasnt him. We all were happy it wasnt us, but who out of all of us did it was the real question.
"Wait a minute," Kyoko Kirigiri said, as she walked towards the body. "There's a million scratches all over the hand. Like glass scratches, as if someone intentionally grabbed Akane's hand and scraped it with glass. She must have died from loss of blood."
Chihiro spoke up, "But how would someone manage to get the glass? Sure, there's shards near the body, but where would they get it from?"
Kyoko looked around. "Maybe they got it from a cup in the dining hall?" I suggested, as the others looked my way.
"Maybe they offered her a drink to not look suspicious, and then broke the cup and used shards of glass to scrape her hand." Kazuichi said.
"NOW ALL OF YOU WILL NEED TO DO A TRIAL TO FIGURE OUT WHO KILLED AKANE." Monokuma said. Oh great, not only do we have to survive but we have to find out who killed Akane?
I push to the front and I see Akane in a better view. I see a bit of blood on her neck. "Maybe the whole thing with people using the glass on her hand isnt the main cause of death," I say.
Kyoko looks at me. "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, look at her neck. Someone sliced her neck open too. Maybe when they used the shards on her hand, it didnt work fast enough to cause her to die." I explained.
Kyoko looked for herself and then at me in shock. "You're right. We need to have a trial, now."

We begun the trial in the trial room, and I was really nervous. But I needed to solve this case, since everyone had different thoughts about what happened.
"I last saw Akane last night, she was with Kokichi Oma and Chiaki Nanami. They were talking about meeting up for breakfast." Nagito said.
I looked over at Kokichi. He was finally there.
"I was hanging out with Akane and Chiaki, but don't get it twisted. We agreed to meet 30 minutes before breakfast would start, and when we already arrived we saw Akane dead on the floor." Kokichi explained.
"I can confirm that," Chiaki said. "We agreed to meet 30 minutes before. We had heard footsteps running away and assumed that was Akane going to the dining hall, but when we got there she was dead."
I thought about it. So they planned to meet 30 minutes before breakfast, they heard footsteps, found Akane dead.
"Ibuki saw Akane with Toko this morning at 7:00, when Ibuki woke up. Ibuki was getting ready and saw them in the public bathroom together, and Akane was talking about how she and Kazuichi made a plan to hang out at 7:10, for 20 whole minutes."
So she and Kazuichi wanted to make a plan to hang out for 20 minutes before meeting up with Kokichi and Chiaki.
"Kazuichi, you say you see this woman in your dreams, right?" I asked.
Kazuichi glanced down at himself. "Yeah..."
"Monokuma said anyone who graduates would be able to get one of their wishes fulfilled. Maybe you wanted to get a wish from that to see this woman, wish that you could meet her. Maybe you decided to kill Akane to graduate? Maybe that's how you knew what the killer did; you said it yourself. 'They offered her a drink not to look suspicious and then broke the cup and scratched her hand."
Kazuichi looked at me like I was crazy. "Everyone else was making assumptions like that as well! I wanted to hang out with Akane but it was nowhere near the dining hall."
"Didn't Ibuki say Toko was speaking with Akane in the bathroom?" Kyoko said.
"T-that's true.." Toko stuttered. "I didnt want her to speak to me. She just walked up and started speaking. She did say she had plans with Kazuichi, but that doesnt mean anything. If it was nowhere near the dining hall like she said, maybe they went to work out together, since she is the Ultimate Gymnast."
I look at Kazuichi for a response, he takes a deep breath in. "I am innocent, me and Akane hung out until about 7:25. I went to go back to sleep and I never saw her dead until I heard the announcement."
I tried to piece together what I had heard.
"Kazuichi, are you positive that you didnt hear anything from Akane after the work out plan?" I asked.
He looks away from me and nods.
"Well, thats bullshit if I've ever heard bullshit!" Miu laughs. "Obviously he killed this girl to see some dream woman of his."
"And he totally isnt the mastermind." Kokichi chuckles.
"Well, there is one small detail I noticed on Akane's corpse," Shuichi says. "Everyone was concerned about her neck, arms, and hand but what about her face? There was bruises on it too, almost as if someone had hit her in the face with a barbell."
"So Kaede was right all along. Kazuichi, you did it, didnt you? You said you were gonna work out with Akane. What do people use when they work out? Barbells to practice weightlifting." Kyoko chimed in.
Kazuichi was so angry it looked like he was about to scream. "FINE. I ADMIT IT. I just wanted to meet the love of my life. So I invited Akane to work out with me because I thought I could frame Kokichi or Chiaki for the murder."
"The love of your life?" Kokichi giggled. "Oh my god, you seem desperate."
Monokuma appears. "It's voting time! Who do you think committed the crime?"
I voted for Kazuichi. Sure enough, the majority voted for him too. And now he had to pay the ultimate price.
"He'll be publicly executed." Monokuma snickered. "ITS PUNISHMENT TIMEEEE!!!"
