As soon as Audrey entered the shop, her eyes landed on a queue in front of her. She inwardly groaned as she realised she'd have to wait just to get some ice cream, but it would probably be worth the wait.

There were people sat down at the tables, some standing, and others walking out, they all had ice creams in front of them.

She pulled out her arm, checking the time on the watch that read [Time]. Audrey was never a patient person, she had the urge to just leave.

However she stood there, impatiently waiting for her turn to get some ice cream. Walking out angrily would make her seem childish, and she didn't want to look like that type of person on her third day back.

A minute had passed and there was only a pair of people left in front of her, she couldn't help but eavesdrop on their conversation.

"Yeah, anyway, this was, like, so fun. We should kind of like, you know, I don't know, maybe hang out this weekend or..." the boy rambled.

"Oh, sorry about that. Uh—" the sound of coins rattling made her turn her head downwards, watching as the coins fell. The man at the till awkwardly smiled. This was so embarrassing.

Audrey could hear the girls giggling and then 'respectfully' decline his offer.

"Maybe next weekend? The following week is better because you know, I'm working here." he said with a humourless chuckle.

The girl looked at him up and down in slight disgust, "Yeah, no." she uttered before walking away with her friends.

At that moment, Audrey had already walked away. She could not handle the second hand embarrassment she had just felt, it was too much for her. She had contemplated on just going home but seeing the two girls walk out with ice creams in hand just forced her back inside.

Audrey set foot in the shop once again, determined to leave with an ice cream. She walked over to the counter and awkwardly stood there as the crazy man from earlier spoke to his colleague.

He obnoxiously took of his hat to show off his hair, shaking his head in a mocking manner to his short haired partner before he turned around.

"Hi, I'm Steve and I'll be your captain," he shouted, catching the black-haired girl off guard and making her jump. "Would you like to set sail on this ocean of flavour with me?"

That was all she needed to know that this guy was fucking crazy.
