The next few days Red son had spent with Mk were all the same. They would wake up, Mk would work and Red son would help out, they would walk around town or hang out and then they would sleep silently.

Even though he was happier, he couldn't help but feel more and more homesick everyday. He missed his mother. Every time Mk found him feeling this way, he would try to cheer him up as he always did.

Usually it worked, but sometimes it didn't.

Red son didn't want to miss her. She was "cruel" according to Mk. She was "not normal." Even so, he couldn't help but think about her at night.

One day, Mk decided he needed a distraction. What better distraction then a full day of partying? Mei was coming back from her families trip that day, though she would need a lot of explaining as to why and how Red and Mk became friends.

"Hey red! How about we go to the arcade today? Mei is supposed to be coming back today."

"Ar....cade.....?"

Mk gasped clearly offended.

"You have not lived, my friend. Just you wait."

Mk whipped out his phone and began typing aggressively. Red son peeked and saw him texting Mei. He couldn't quite see what exactly they were talking about.

Almost instantly, Mk grabbed Red sons arm and ran through the streets. They eventually made it to a brightly colored building.

Red son stared in awe at the brightly colored building, brighter than anything he had seen. Suddenly, a person skips toward them.

She had black hair tied in 2 buns with green streaks. She wore a crop top and jacket with denim shorts. Red son immediately recognized her as Mei. Mk's companion.

"Hey mk! I heard you brought a mystery friend! Who is it?"

She glances at Red son and gasped before whipping out her sword.

"Mk! The red boy is here! Don't worry, I'll protect you!"

Mk sighed.

"Yes.. I know. He IS the mystery friend.."

Mei stands still for a moment, processing the situation before it clicks.

"You and HIM OF ALL PEOPLE are friends?! Mk how could y-"

Mk quickly cuts her off and leads her to an alley nearby as Red stays behind, awkwardly and sadly.

"Look, he's been through a lot okay? Just please try not to be a jerk, Mei."

"UGHHHH but he's literally our ENEMY!"

Mk stared her deep in the eyes begging without words.

"Well.. fine.. just this once if he actually needs help. It's what heroes do after all.."

As Mei agrees, they run back out to the entrance together, Mei and Red son not speaking to one another.

Red son admired the brightly colored room, filled with people flying and loud music. The lights were different colors that were strong enough to blind him. Despite the chaos, he felt happiness somehow. Even excitement.

Mk held onto Red sons hand as he flinched slightly.

"Sorry. This parts a little scary. It's called zero gravity arcade for a reason."

Red son was confused. What did he mean this part was scary? As he was lost in his confusing thoughts, the 3 shot upwards into the air with the other floating people.

Red son felt fear as the ground below became smaller. He began to fling around in stress before Mk grabbed on to his other hand to look him in the eyes. His face just screamed the words, "it's safe." Without actually speaking.

He eventually calmed down.

Mei and Red son continued to awkwardly not talk until she glanced at the surprisingly empty dance pad game and begged Red and Mk to play it together. Mk agreed and didn't let go of Red sons hand letting him realize how embarrassing it was.

There were 2 pads. Mei insisted that Red and Mk went first as she floated away to get food.

"So just step on the arrows when the screen says! It's that simple." Mk laughs putting coins into the machine.

Suddenly, the screen in front of the two lights up revealing loud, catchy music and 4 arrows. Mk was excited.

The screen filled itself with words.

Ready.

Set.

DANCE!

The music began to play and the arrows began to move. It was a surprising but simple pattern. Red son managed to hit every note as if it were nothing but a toddlers game. Mk was shocked.

After the song ended, Mei served some fries and drinks to share.

"You never played but managed to beat me?" Mk panted drenched in sweat from dancing too hard.

Red son couldn't help but laugh. Something about this place was amusing. He liked the feeling of victory despite it being a silly game. He liked how Mk wasn't hurt or angry over defeat.

It was wonderful.
