Everyone in the city couldn't help but stay, dazed from the sight of the dragon. Evelyn and Tyde though, had different things on their minds. As soon as Evelyn starts to place the stones in obvious slots, Vayne appears, and as soon as he does, the city becomes chaos. Everyone that was previously there, disappears in a matter of minutes.
"How convenient... that you gathered the stones for me all in one place..." He smiles.
"You say that... but your not laying a finger on them! I will kill you if I have to!" Evelyn puts the stones away, safe from the grasp of the villain.
"Fine then, let's finish this... It's gonna be me, or you Evelyn... Ready?" He jabs the air toward Tyde at lightning speed. Tydes eyes widen for a minute, before he's shrouded in a black mist, his eyes darken, and he turns to look at Evelyn.
"What... did you do to him?" She yells at Vayne. He just stands there, out the way, and laughs.
"Why don't you find out for yourself Evelyn... Tyde... Kill her."
Evelyns jaw just drops at the sight of her best friend fire a surge of water at her. She can't even feel the pain of getting smacked into a nearby wall. She drops to the floor, and just sits there for a moment. A tear rolls down her cheek, as she pulls herself to her feet and draws her sword.
"Tyde... don't... please don't make me kill you..." Another bolt of water is shot at her, and she cuts through it with her sword. She charges at him, tears covering her face, and tries to swing at him. He blocks the attack with his shield of water and pushes it back against her.
"Your going to have to take this fight more serious than that... if you want to win that is..." Vayne sighs.
"Stay out of this!" She scream at him. "Your disgusting!"
"Why thank you, dear..." Evelyn swallows the vomit and cuts through multiple bolts of water thrown at her by her own companion. She reaches him and takes another swing, when he blocks it, she grabs an arrow from her quiver and stabs him around the shield catching him off guard, making him lower the shield. Her sword continues to leave a scrach in his stomach, she still refuses to hurt him. She notices Tydes eyes change to normal for a moment, "Evelyn... You have to..." He struggles for control, "kill me..." and his eyes darken once again and continue fighting.
"See, even he says you have to kill him... what are you going to do? Listen to him... or fail the mission?"
Evelyn just ignores Vayne and wipes the tears from her eyes. She raises her sword, ready for another overpowering attack, "You... aren't... Tyde!" She shouts at him at the top of her lungs, and cuts him three more times, the fourth one getting blocked and counter-attacked.
"That's better... you stand more of a chance with that attitude..." He says.
"Why don't you... just shut the hell up?"
"Fine, I will... Tyde! Finish this..."
About twenty minutes pass, and neither of them have been hit since Evelyns outrage. They know eachothers fighting styles too well. Eventually, Tyde gives up with blocking and forges a longsword made purely from water, but still as sharp as any other ordinary sword. Tyde swings it at Evelyn, and she tries to block it with her own sword. What she didn't expect was for it to go straight through the defence and end up giving her a deep cut across her arm. Evelyn leaps backwards away from him to allow time for her wound to heal.
"Now I can't even block... but maybe if I can't... then he can't either..." She thinks to herself, "only one way to find out!" She charges at him with an attack that looks easy to block, but when he tries Evelyns blade cuts straight through it and slashes him across the chest, leaving to blood to gush out.
"Seems like your influence doesn't know Tyde's abilities as well as you thought, Vayne..."
He doesn't reply, just stands there with a shocked look in his eye.
"Tyde... I'm so sorry about this..." She pushes him to the ground and plunges the sword through his chest. As blood surrounds him, the black mist parts and his eyes turn to normal.
"Tyde..."
"Evelyn, it's not your fault," He replies.
"Let the earth stone heal you!" She suggests.
"No... as soon as I'm ready to fight again, his dark influence will just fill me up again... Evelyn... I have to die..." He coughs blood out of his throat, "Just do me one favour..."
"Anything," she promises.
"Slaughter... him..."
Those were Tydes last words. After that, his eyes closed, and his pulse gave up. Now there is just one more fight seperating Evelyn from fulfilling her mission and returning home. Only now, she wasn't just doing it for herself, she was doing it to avenge Tyde. Not even just Tyde, all people of Straxand. Every last man or woman that has been manipulated by the monsters magic. He next fight, is with the most monstrous thing she's faced yet.
