"You will be of great use, Astra Black." A low voice growled in her head. Gasping, the girl sat up. She was in bed, the clock on the nightstand next to her clicked softly and she read the time. 5:00. It was still early in the morning, looking around everyone was still asleep. Astra rubbed the sweat from her brow, deciding to take a shower to keep her mind off of the weird dream.
After Astra was dressed and ready it was only 5:45 am. She walked towards the door and carefully opened it. The hinges creaked slowly and Astra made sure to slip out quickly so that no one noticed her. She slipped out of the common room and down the many stairs, finally arriving outside into the fresh chilly morning air. Dew covered everything around her and the bottom of her pants got soaked as she walked to the pitch.
It was so early that Astra had not run into one single person, not even a teacher as she trekked through the halls of the castle. Walking into the gryffindor locker rooms Astra collected her broom and quidditch gear and walked back onto the pitch, desperate to clear her head. She flew a couple of laps around the pitch before flying back down to the ground and letting a bludger out of the case. Picking up one of the beater bats, Astra let the ball fly towards her before she slammed the bat into it making it fly a good distance away before it returned.
Astra hit the ball away from her again, taking her anger and confusion from the dream out onto it. She heard the wind rush behind her and turned around. "Longbottom." Astra acknowledged before she hit the ball away again, turning back towards it and not paying much attention to the boy. "I think we have known each other long enough to use first names." He stated and Astra smiled towards him, appreciative that he hadn't asked why she was outside hitting a bludger so early in the morning when she was a chaser.
"Right." She said, hitting the ball again. "Mind if I join you?" He asked as he flew beside her with his own bat. "Next one's all yours." Astra was glad that her best friend had found love in Frank Longbottom. He was a nice boy and Alice deserved to be treated with respect. Frank launched the ball far away from the duo and they took turns hitting.
"Congratulations by the way." Astra glanced at the boy beside her. "Thank you, I do hope Alice made the right decision." He spoke, unsure if he really could treat Alice the way she deserved. "Frank, I have never seen my best friend so in love and happy in her entire life. Her eyes lit up when she told us the news of your engagement brighter than the time her parents said she could have a puppy." Astra laughed at the thought.
"I know I just don't want to hold her back, you know?" He looked over at her with a frown. "You won't, I promise. Plus Alice is stronger than you think, she can take care of herself." She smiled reassuringly at the boy and he smiled in gratitude. They went on in silence for a bit just batting the ball across the pitch.
"Your turn." He said not looking at her and slamming his bat into the ball. "What." She said, caught off guard. "What made you come out here at six in the morning? A fight with James, perhaps? "He asked, glancing at her knowingly. "Whatever you are thinking you can get it out of your head right now. It has nothing to do with James, okay." She glared over at him as he hit the ball again.
"I'm just saying, there is obviously a reason you came out here. You can talk to me, you know, I won't tell anyone." The girl looked over at the boy. It would be nice to be able to tell someone outside of the group. That way they wouldn't tell anyone else in the group and start a protection detail on her. She didn't want to be suffocated and watched all of the time. She knew her friends would worry when they realized something was up but hopefully she could figure out more about what was going on by then.
So she started explaining. "I had a dream last night, one that felt so real and I just couldn't get it out of my head." She started. "Like one of those dreams where you feel like you are falling and then right as you are about to hit the ground, bam! You're back in bed." She laughed lightly at his explanation. "Um, not exactly." He looked over at her in curiosity.
"One of those dreams where it feels so real, like you're actually there. If you reached out you could feel it with your fingertips. More like, a memory. But not my memory. Almost as if I am seeing into someone else's head." She explained, furrowing her brows in thought as the dream flashed through her mind.
"And what was this dream about?" He questioned, worriedly glancing over at her as she hit the ball away from them. "I don't really know. All I know is that it wasn't good and whoever's 'memory' it was knows who I am and is very interested in finding me. I don't know, explaining it now almost seems impossible." She laughed. "We are in a school full of wizards and witches, nothing is impossible." He looked over at her worriedly.
A/n~ It's about to get good y'all. I also wanted to bring in relationships outside of the group just to make it a bit interesting. I didn't want the main focus to be on just the Marauders and the girls like most books so I decided to add some new friendships into Astra's life to spice it up.
