BLACK

  Black opened his eyes and his first thought was that he couldn't be dead because he would never do that to White. He would never leave his baby brother all on his own.

  "Black?"

  Black blinked and looked to his right to find Gram sitting on a chair there. His eyes were wide and he was frozen like if he didn’t know if what he was seeing was real or not.

  "Where the fuck am I?" Black asked, looking around.

  "You're in the hospital." Gram said and Black saw him taking out his phone.

  Black’s memories were foggy.

  Why the fuck was he in the hospital?

  "He's awake!" Yok exclaimed as he walked into the room followed by Gumpa.

  "Yok don't scream. This is a hospital." Gumpa scolded him.

  "Black, you have no idea how much you've missed." Yok said, sitting on the hospital bed by Black's feet. Gram glared at him and tried getting him off but he ignored him. "Okay, where do I begin? Hm…"

  "How many days has it been?" Black asked.

  "Days?" Yok laughed. "Oh you're funny."

  Black glared at Yok.

  "Black you’ve been in a coma for almost four months." Gumpa clarified.

  Four months?!

  Black suddenly remembered everything.

  Fuck.

  "Oh, I figured out where to start!" Yok said, clearing his throat. "Okay so Gram was all sulky because you were ignoring him and he wanted to get wasted so Sean and I took him to that club you always said was kind of good. Anyways we went and he got totally wasted and disappeared and when Sean and I found him he was talking to you only it wasn't you but your twin brother, a.k.a. my future art bestie White."

  "Anyways Sean and I got him to let go of White and then some dude came out of the club and started being all jerky to White and threatening him and Sean was like 'Oh, he'll no. Nobody threatens White.' and stepped in front of him and then White fell down in pain and we got a call from Gumpa saying you were on the way to the hospital so we took White to the same hospital. Daddy Gumpa used his connections to get you and your brother in the same room so when he woke up he explained to us that you two have this freaky twin connection thing and that's why he collapsed. Then he said the dude from the club was the one who sent for you to get killed. It was a very emotional day for White. We put your beds together so he could hold your hand and be close to you and he fell asleep." Yok paused to take a deep breath.

  Black didn't even have time to process or react to everything Yok had just told him because Yok started talking again.

  "Then Gram was all grouchy because he was upset that you never told him about White so he was like 'Um, keep him away from me. Ew, gross.' and we all agreed to adopt White because he was all alone in the world and needed to be protected. So Gumpa got him to move into the garage and Gram was a total jerk to White at first. Like full on bully behavior." Yok shook his head looking disappointed at Gram.

  Black turned and glared at Gram.

  "You fucking bullied my baby brother?" He asked, pissed.

  "I'm sorry." Gram said look genuinely apologetic.

  "Anyways Sean was all 'Stop bullying White or I'll break your face Gram.' everytime Gram said anything. It was awkward at the garage for awhile until finally like a month and a half later Gram and White just showed up to the garage and were like 'Besties!' and suddenly Gram was acting like White’s protective older brother. He claimed it was his job since you were in a coma." Yok pretended to be asleep to show Black how he'd looked for the past almost four months.
