SMALL TOWN OF BROKEN DREAMS
╚══════*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*══════╝
"What did you do this time?"
"Ordered a carmel latte. But... you're not here to serve my order." Taehyun smoothly avoided the topic of his later renovation misadventures, teasing Yeonjun for not doing his job properly and earning an annoyed whine from the older.
"I'll get you your coffe in one minute, but don't you think I'll let it slide, you cheeky bastard." Yeonjun rolled his eyes and dissapears at the back of the local bakery.
"Yes, you have to spill Tyun. Everyone talking since morning, that Mrs Wang chased you out of her hous with a slipper in her hand!" His other friend, Hueningkai nods in excitement.
"People really should mind their own buisness." Taehyun just scoffs, the rumors in this small town spread faster than a wildfire.
"True, you got it wrong Kai! I've got some customers today thay were gossiping on the line that Mrs Wang was threating him with an axe, just to get rid of him from her property!" Yeonjun is back, slamming Taehyun's drink way to roughly on the table and plopping his ass on free chair.
"Of course not, you idiot. She's like middle-aged woman, you realy belived she's able to do so? And you..." Taehyun adressed Yeonjun, who looks way to comftable, rocking back and forth on the chair, his legs nonchalantly resting on the table. "Don't you have work to do, other that spreading rumours?"
"C'mon you know bakery is only alive in the morning, when people usually get their bread... It's always deserted for the rest of the day." Yeonjun tries hard to sound like he doesn't care, but after years of friendship Taehyun and Kai know better than that. It was bittersweet, cause as much as Yeonjun loves to brag about how he's never overwhelmed by his work, having tones of free time just to slack and gossiping with his customers, his friends cane easy tell that the older longs for something more.
It's not that Yeonjun's bakery that he opens once he get out of highschool is completely unprofitable. His bread is quite famous in the neighbourhood, as he not only use local ingredients, but also offers all kinds of bread. Wholemeal bread, rye one, baguettes, bagels - Yeonjun has them all and every morning the line to his bakery is so long, that people even wait outside. But still, it's not enough to fully satisfy the baker himself.
Cause at very young age Yeonjun fell in love with sweets. But no, mere candies won't do. As his parents were constantly working, often having night shifts as well, little Yeonjun was under care of his grandmother. And the eldery woman know how to bake, her kitchen, damn, her whole home always full of aroma from freshly-baked sweet goodies. His love for pastries was like a match made in heaven, suddenly he not only wanted to stuff himself full with them, but also to know how to make them himself, carefully observing his grandma kneading the dough and preparing all kind of fillings at first and then step by step helping her more and more.
Which leaded him here, behind the counter of his own bakery. He know his granny, who sadly passed away few years ago, would be proud of him, for creating a small buissnes ou of her recipes, but truth be told, the small town wasn't necessery a good target for fancy desserts. The best he can do is selling sweetbuns that people sometimes get for their childeren or as a snack or some themed-decorated pastries during holiday season, but nothing grand. He also managed to get a coffie machine, discovering that sometimes people like to grab take-out drinks in morning rush, but it's the closes he gets to owning a cafe. His recipes for panna cotta, lava cakes or creme brulee were gaining dust on his shelf as he baked the same old kinds of bread everyday, well-know and loved by whole town.
