NIGHTMARE DRESSED AS A DREAM HOUSE
╚══════*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*══════╝
"Do people around here belive in magic or more like... ghosts?"
"They sure have their little superstitions..." Taehyun doesn't even turn around to face Beomgyu, staying still on his ladder, hanging the protection foil all over the walls and ceiling. "Why are you asking?"
"It's nothing, it's just... nevermind." Beomgyu cuts the conversation short and Taehyun is really greatful that he's not facing him. Not only because it make him look like a proffesional, sticking to his stuff and not wasting time for chatting during work hours but also cause it's really hard to keep a straight face with knowing exactly why Beomgyu's asking.
He's been helping Beomgyu out for about a week now, fixing minor problems and mostly securing the house before the bigger renovations. At least that what he's been telling Beomgyu, skillfully keeping him out of house while he's working, just so he can set trap after trap, making Beomgyu at least a little bit paranoid.
Even Hueningkai's and Yeonjun's comments from the first night about how evil he is couldn't make his smile fade, not when they heard the high-pitched scream and then watch Beomgyu setting up the tent in the garden for himself and Hot Dog, probably just to not to sleep in that house. Obviously he must've seen the stairs looking like a fresh crime scene and got scared. But that wasn't even the best part.
His highlight was meeting the shaken Beomgyu next morning, listening to his explanation that somthing weird is happening with his stairs, just for Taehyun to pretend to be confused and showing him back that hey, the stairs looks completely fine. The fluorescent paint surely did a marvelous job, being undetectable in the light of day after drying.
With weird shits happening around it wasn't really hard to talk Beomgyu into staying out as much as possible, especially when Taehyun is working. That created another amazing opportunity - for Taehyun to sneaking in Yeonjun and Hueningkai to help him set up another scare-trap.
He set some ground rules to avoid being busted - firstly he needed to deep clean the first trap before creating another. That's were Yeonjun and Kai come to rescue and complain, cause it wasn't neccesary easy to get this paint off those stairs. Just mere washing wasn't enough, it took long hours and lots of sandpaper but in the end stairs looked like new. Taehyun even gave it a top coat of nice wood preservative specific, so they doesn't loose their natural colour and he can play dumb in front of Beomgyu that yes, he conservate the stairs after that situation from morining. He even innocently asked if they doesn't look weird anymore.
And that how it wen't past few days - Beomgyu running to his tent screaming after seeing another monstrosity like horror scene in his bathroom that was treated generously with fluorescent paint by Taehyun or hearing creepy sounds cause Taehyun started to feel bold enough to hide his loudspeaker in ventilation duct by the ceiling.
"To be honest there are some rumours flying as well..." Taehyun doesn't really know why he's stopping Beomgyu from leaving, why he's dragging the conversation after he finally jump off the ladder.
"What rumours?" Beomgyu halts in doors to the room, leaning against the frame.
"You know, it's small town, everyone's been talking about everything. Including the house."
