Tom's POV
Getting to know Pattie was something that I really looked forward to. This is actually the first time me and Pattie would spend a whole week together. Compared to her, I was american and my home town was Manhattan, I was not a city boy. I first met her when Janice took me to the pictures and she invited the Harrisons to come with. She seemed a bit flirty at that time but I didnt really care because I was already engaged to Janice.
I put extra effort so I can be open enough to her. I changed the seating in our flight and the arrangements in the rooms so we can stay together and get to know each other more.
"Tom, I'm goin sunbathin. Wanna come?" Pattie invited with her lovely british accent.
"Alright, lemme tell the kids." I went out and headed to Gabe's and Dhani's room to tell them that we'll be out til the afternoon.
I knocked on the door hopin that Gabe would answer it. I just felt weird in front of Dhani.
"Halo sir." Unfortunately..... It was Dhani. "Did ye want somethin?"
"I just came by to tell you kids that me and your mother are goin sunbathin til the afternoon."
"Alright."
"Feel free to join us whenever you want." Nice.... Now the kid thinks we're friends....
"Ok, sir. We'll see ye two for dinner then?" The boy asked.
"Yes."
"Have fun." He said and I nodded as he closed the door.
That boy is a nice kid. No wonder Gabe feels comfortable with him. He seems nice. And friendly.
I walked back to our room and saw Pattie was ready to go. She pulled my hand and we walked to he beach. Finding the perfect spot was a bit of a chanllenge to us because that spot has to provide enough sunlight for a tan and not to much for a sun burn.
When we finally got a spot, I pooked around to find a place to buy drinks. I found one and bought us some shakes.
"Here we are." I put down the drinks. And Patiie smiled.
"Thank you." She took a sip of the shake. "Refreshing. Now lets get that tan."
I laid down and instantly found my safe place. I was so relax but I wasnt sleepin. The air blew makin the weather not to hot. It was a perfect day.
But I wasnt in the perfect mood. Honestly, I could sense that nobody was up for this vacation. Gabe was oddly unexcited and Dhani was quiet the whole trip and Pattie was really bored.
Falling asleep under the sun was a good idea. It sets mind off the things that brings stress. Pattie fortunately brought an alarm so we can wake up and turn our bodies so the tan is even.
Hopefully Gabe and Dhani are alright. Gabe usually gets stressed a lot and she doesnt really handle it that well. She's fragile and this is actually the first time she's been comfortable without her mom.Dhani was like her safe place. I could feel the connection between those 14 year olds.
Dhani's POV
I woke up with my arms wrapped around Gabe and I remembered what happened this morning. It was already 4 pm and mom and Tom should be getting back around 6 pm. I carefully pulled my arms from Gabe so to not wake her and got up from the bed. I pulled the comforter to keep her warm. The room was pretty cold. So I turned up the temperature to 25°.
I got a sweater and wore it over my white v-neck. I was still wearing my jeans and my socks so my lower body didnt feel cold. I remembered taking Gabe's shirt off and seeing bruises and cuts on her sides and on her stomach. I wasnt trying to seem like a pervert but I needed to make sure if what I saw was real.
