chapter 1

"all of staff please get up front. staff up front thank you." i heard over the PA. i jumped out of bed and started getting dressed in my white uniform. the female staff wore the same thing as the men, who wore a white long sleeve with long white pants and a black belt. i stepped out of my room and saw the other staff walking towards dr. brenner's office. first went timothee, then amber, then henry. henry always smiled quite big at me. i really got along with henry. me and timothee were okay and me and amber hated eachother. my name was allie elizabeth. but people just call me 020. anyway. i smiled back at henry. i walked next to him. he was quite shy but i didn't think too much of it. some people are shy and i reassured him that's okay. we stepped into dr. brenners office and he was seething mad. more mad than usual. which i didn't know was possible. we all stood in a straight line, our hands held down by our bellies. holding our own hands and standing tall to make a good appearance for brenner. "we're doing new tests with the kids today. amber and timothee i need you to be in room 1 testing kids and henry and allie you're in the rainbow room, watching the kids. i have errands to run. please be safe." brenner said holding a stack of papers and heading out the door. me and henry smiled at eachother and headed into the rainbow room. where most of the kids were. i glanced at henry from across the room and he was already staring at me. he walked over to me and sat by me. "are you feeling okay?" he asked softly. id never seen him be compassionate towards me because it wasn't allowed in the lab. "uh.. yes. are you?" i smiled at him. "i'm doing just fine love." he said and i felt my face get hot. i didn't even know why. he continued to sit by me as we watched 012 try to move a block with her powers. i looked in the corner of the room. the cameras were disabled? why was that..? i went to the generator room and saw no cameras in any room. i heard a door open behind me and before i could hide i heard his voice. "hey.. is everything okay?" henry said softly, the door shutting behind him. "yes i'm sorry you just scared me." i stood in front of the camera screens. "all of them are disabled?" he said confused. so he didn't know why either.

5 hours later

it was around nighttime and i got ready for bed i heard footsteps outside my room and saw the doorknob twist. i was in my bra so i covered myself with my hands, jumping back. "oh shit.. i'm so sorry." henry said covering his eyes. "listen i know why he disabled the cameras." he said turned around with his hand over his face. "whys that henry.." i said irritated. "i can come back later.." i he said but i cut him off. "no." i slipped my silk pajama shirt down my torso as he watched slowly running his eyes up my body. "so.. why'd they disable them?" i said, drawing his attention back to my lips, where they usually were. "uh.. i think 011 is being bullied.. and i think brenner is letting it happen." he said and my eyes widened. we both ran to the rainbow room and saw no kids, it was dark and they were all in their rooms. we passed through doors until one read "011" we came in and she was asleep in her bed. no marks on her or anything. i sighed in relief and headed back to my room. henry following. "hey just in case i need to wake you.. can i sleep i. here tonight..?" he said and i smiled softly. "of course but where?" he laid a blanket down on the cold concrete flooring. "oh henry no.. we can share a bed." i smiled and made a spot for him on the bed. he laid down. he removed his shirt and all i could see was very slightly his abs reflecting under the moonlight from the small window with bars on it at the top of the room. i rolled over and looked at him. "is something wrong..?" he said gently. "no im just.. worried about el.."
"she'll be fine princess. get some rest" he said in a sleepy voice. my face began getting extremely hot and i held back the urge to kiss him. his eyes were shut but our faces were almost touching.

4:13 A.M
i awoke to a blood curdling female scream. henry was out of bed and i ran outside my room. blood was splattered all over the white walls, leading all the way to the rainbow room.. i opened the big metal doors and saw brenner.. my heart dropped when i saw henry..
