Chapter 11

The Ball Pt. 2

After they arrived Veronica's father approached her stating, ''you look beautiful as always Veronica.''

''Thank you father i have missed you so much.", she then hugged him.

I need to act like Veronica as much as possible since her family are present cause they'll suspect me if i act different.

''Long time no see Veronica.''

''Ohh hello dear brother, but where is dear mother and Joseph did he not come?''

''Yeah your mother is not here because your grandmother got sick about a week ago and she is currently looking after her since her state is not improving, also joseph couldn't make it since he is busy at the academy right now but he told me to send his regards.''

''Ahh is that so, what a shame.''

''Well either way you look beautiful today.''

''Thank you dear brother.''

After their little chat ended I then approached and greeted the prince of the Okrailan empire.

''Greetings prince, it is a great honor that you could attend this ball, i humbly welcome you to Obelia.''

''Thank you your highness and blessings to the moon of the empire'' –he bowed.

They chattered for a while after that he then asked. 

''Oh it seems like the dance is about to start, may i take the honor to have the first dance with you your majesty.''

''Oh ah yes, of course.''

As I reached out my hand to accept his offer someone then immediately grabbed my wrist and pulled it.

I was shocked from the sudden action as  I looked back to see who it was my eyes widened thinking, Claude?

''Thank you prince for asking my wife for a dance but as her husband i think the first dance should belong to me", giving him a cold smile which made the prince shiver.

''Ahh your quite right your majesty, then may i please excuse myself.''

As the prince left Claude then asked Veronica, ''may i please have this dance with you?''

I then reached out and accepted his offer but was still confused about the whole situation.

As we danced at the ballroom everyone's attention gathered at the both of us.

Many people stated, "they look so beautiful together."

"Is the cold hearted emperor really smiling like that?"

"Mybe hes different from what the rumors stated."

Murmurs and whispers scattered throughout the whole ballroom.

I then asked, ''um your majesty? "

"Like i said call me Claude."

"Right ahh Claude, why did you do that?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean you scared the prince away."

He smiled looking at me then replied, "well he was asking for a dance with my wife so i couldn't just stand by watching his lustfull eyes looking at you.''

Well we are married, so its normal i guess.

I then stated, ''yeah i guess you are right, i am taken by a handsome man."

My answer made him happy.

As the dance ended my father once approached us again and asked, "my i take some time for my daughter your majesty?"

Claude then nodded.

He then handed my hand to Veronica's dad.

As they walked out of the ball they went on the garden outside the ballroom, he then told me.

"Im sorry for taking you away, i just wanted some catching up to do since it has been five months since you left."

I answered with a smile, ''Its ok father i understand.''
