Kenji POV
I follow next to Kaachan who was silently fuming. And the reason for that is well....I've gotten into a fight on the first day of the academy.

It was during our lunch period and I was walking threw the halls headed outside when I spotted a group of older kids picking on someone from my class. And if there's something I hate its bully's so I of course went to step in.

But things got a little heated and I lost my temper...

Now I'm suspended from the academy for 2 weeks. At least it's not as long as Bourto's suspension I guess. Kaachan let's out a deep breath and stops in front of me. I keep my gaze on the ground, "Kenji look at me." She says sternly and I slowly look up, "I know the school told me what happened but I want to hear it from you."

I sigh, "I was on my way to lunch when I saw some older kids picking on a student from my class. You know how I feel about bullying so I went over to take care of it calmly. But then they started to say I should stay out of it since I'm just a spoiled brat. I didn't let that get to me because I know it wasn't true....but they kept egging me on Kaachan. Going as far to say I'm a disgrace to the Senju name. And that's probably why Kaasan is never home because she's embarrassed to have a son like me."

Her eyes soften and she kneels in front of me, "Kenji you know that's not true, your more talented than people who are older than you. And you've worked very hard for it, your Kaasan loves you, Yushiko, Yushino and me very deeply. If she could she would be here with us and never leave."

"Yea...I know." I mumble looking back down at the ground. She gently grabs my chin and lifts my head up, "Promise me you won't get into anymore fights over things like this." I nod, "I'll try my best for you Kaachan." She smiles and stands, "Good now come on we have to go pick the twins up from your Aunt Hinata's house."

We walk side by side to the Uzumaki residents, Kaachan speaks to Aunt Hinata breifly before we say goodbye to her.

Before we head home we go to the market because Kaachan had to pick up a few things for dinner tonight. I take most of the bags so she doesn't have to carry as much. When we finally finish and head back towards the house, I stop when we get about 15 feet from the Senju mansion.

"What is it Kenji?"

"Aunt Kasumi is at the house but she's not alone I can't tell whose she with." I mumble slight, Kaachan frowns at the news.

"Yushiko and Yushino you stay right by your brothers side okay." They both get on either side of me, I tense up cursing slightly under my breath. Since it was the first day of the academy I didn't think I should bring my katana. Now I regret it, Kaachan makes her way onto the porch and we both set the groceries down.

She slowly opens the door, "Kasumi are you in here?" Soon we hear two sets of footsteps coming out of the kitchen.

First Aunt Kasumi comes out with a large grin on her face. My eyes widen when Kaasan comes right behind her with a sheepish smile. She rubs the back of her head, "Ohiyo I'm home...." The twins snap out of it first, "Kaasan!!"

They both yell at the same time running straight for her. She scoops them both in her arms, "Look how big you both got! My beautiful baby girls, stop growing on me!" She scolds them playfully placing a kiss on there foreheads causing them to giggle.

"C-Chiyo!?" Kaachan questions in disbelief her face getting red by the second. Kaasan sets the girls down and turns her attention to her, "Hey Sakura my love."

Just as those words leave her mouth Kaachan's eyes roll in the back of her head. And she starts to fall backwards, "Kaachan!!"

I rush forward ready to catch her but Kaasan beats me to it and picks her up bridle style. Kaachan head falls on her chest, "Don't worry I've got her, I'm going to take her upstairs. Why don't you help your Aunt prepare dinner." I watch them disappear upstairs, "Come on Ken they'll be down soon enough."

I grunt slightly and go outside to pick up the bags of groceries. Whatever I don't care that she's here right now.

(Timeskip during dinner)

I glare at my plate as I eat ignoring everyone around me. They where all laughing and joking with one another. How can they pretend everythings fine like she hasn't been gone for the last 2 years.

"Kenji are you alright?" I look up and find everyone was staring at me, that's when I noticed I broke my chopsticks. I let go of my broken pieces, "No I'm not alright Kaachan, how can you all act like everything's normal. That its completely fine for her to come and go whenever she pleases. Well its not its completely bullshit to me."

"Kenji watch your mouth!" I scoff and stand up, "Whatever I'm not hungry anymore." I stomp my way out the front door, "Ken stop being a brat and get back here."

"Kasumi its fine all of you stay here." I hear footsteps behind me I spin on my heels and glare at her, "Stop following me."

Kaasan looks at me blankly, "I'm not following you I'm simply going in the same direction." I roll my eyes and turn back around and take off into the roots. And of course with Kaasan behind me, I try to lose her in the village but she keeps up with me with ease. Finally I make it to the top of Hokage rock and sit on the very top.

She sits down next to me and its nothing but awkward silence between us.

"You know I'm perfectly fine with you not wanting to be around me and hating me right? Because for a time like you I hated you Grandmother." I frown and look over at her, "You hated grandma?"

She nods her gaze looking over the village,  "Did I ever tell you I didn't grow up in the village?"

My eyes widen in surprise, "No!?" I can't help but shout slightly causing her to chuckle lightly. Kaasan finally turns her head to look at me, "Yup I didn't grow up here, I grew up in an orphanage in the Land of Lighting. Before you ask your Grandmother had her reasons and your Grandfather didn't know about my existence until the third Hokage introduced us. I've already forgiven them about it and I'm thankful in a way I met your Aunt Kasumi and it shaped me into who I am today. Although I did feel like an outsider when we where all genin considering everyone grew up together."

I look down at my hands, "The point I'm trying to make Kenji that its okay to hate and be angry with things you don't agree with. Yes it hurts other people sometimes but if they really love and care for you. Those people will be willing to wait for your forgiveness no matter how long it takes. And i for one am willing to wait and work for it."

I could feel tears building up in my eyes and I quickly wipe them away with the back of my hand.

"How long are you going to be staying." Kaasan sighs and looks back out towards the village, "I was able to wiggle on 2 months of free time. But then I'll have to go back out again, I'm sorry I can't be here longer or even stay." I glance at her and move closer resting my head against her upper arm, "At least your trying Kaasan that's all I can really ask. I know your an important figure in the village I guess a part of me just still doesn't want to except it."

She runs her fingers threw my hair with her other hand, "Like I said that's okay Kenji. Now you mind telling me how you got suspended of your first day at the academy?"

I laugh nervously, "Well you see...."

Kaasan and I spend hours on Hokage rock, just me telling her everything that's been going on since she's been gone. She tells me what she can about her travels, soon it was already dark outside. Not wanting to make Kaachan even angrier Kaasan teleports us to the front porch.

As soon as we walk in Kaachan stands from the couch and rushes over to us. She looks between us with a worried expression, "Is everything okay you two?"

Kaasan put her hand on my shoulder and squeezes it slightly, "We're fine I promise my love. Now go up stairs Kenji you have a loonnngggg first training day with me tomorrow. Your going to need your rest, just because your my son doesn't mean ill take it easy."

I turn around and look up at her with a smirk, "Good I don't want you to take it easy on me old lady."

Her eye twitches slightly and I take that as my sign to go. I quickly hug Kaachan, "Night Kaachan, night Kaasan!" I rush upstairs hearing Kaasan mutter, "Damn brat."

The a slapping sound, "Ow Sakura!"

"Oh hush I know that didn't hurt you, I've seen you get hit harder."
