Poseidon's POV:
About an hour into the train ride someone knocked on the door. Draco answered the door to the compartment. "Hello, can I sit with you guys in here? Everywhere else is loud and I can't find any peace." The boy, seems to be our age, asked. Draco looked back at me in question and I just shrugged my shoulders showing it didn't matter to him. Draco allowed the dark-haired boy in and introduced himself, "My name's Draco and this is my twin Poseidon." The boy smiled and introduced himself too, "My name's Harry." We all shook hands and went back to our quiet atmosphere. Harry grabbed a book out of his trunk before putting his trunk away and reading too.
It was another two hours of calming silence in the compartment when a dirty red-haired boy barged through the door without so much as knocking. "Have you seen Harry Potter? I'm going to be his best friend." The boy said. "That's me. But I don't know you." Harry, who was sitting next to Draco, said. When Harry said that the red-haired boy smiled an ugly creepy smile at him but looked at Draco and I with disgust. "And who are you two?" he asked rudely. Draco looked over at me for help since he doesn't seem to like this kid and honestly neither did I but I took the lead. "My name's Poseidon Malfoy and this is my younger twin Draco Malfoy." I tell him in a bored voice, making it obvious I want him not to be here. "MALFOY!" he screamed in disgust before turning to Harry, "Do you not know who they are?! Their dad works for the guy that killed your parents! I would be a much better friend to you so how about you come with me and leave the death eater scum here." The boy, who still hasn't introduced himself, said as he held his hand out to Harry.
Harry just looked at the boy's hand then at his face before saying, "I think I can choose my own friends. Thanks." The boy didn't like that judging by the fact that his face got as red as his hair. Draco let out a little chuckle at what was going on in front of him. That only made the unknown boy madder, "What are you laughing at ferret boy?!" he yelled before trying to hit Draco. I quickly stood up and pushed the boy away from my twin. "Stay away from my brother you little homeless brat!" I yelled at the red head before pushing him again, this time harder, out the compartment door then shutting and locking it. After making sure the door was locked properly, I checked on Draco then Harry to make sure both boys were okay. They were okay so all three of us calmed down from the weird kid's theatrics and went back to preparing for school for the rest of the train ride.
3rd Person POV:
It wasn't long before all three boys got changed into their school robes and only five minutes after that, that they arrived at the platform for the school. Everyone unloaded from the large train, leaving their stuff behind. Years two and up went to the carriages while first years followed the overly large hairy man down to the shore of the lake. "No more than four to a boat!" the large man, Hagrid, yelled out. It ended up with Poseidon, Draco, and Harry getting into a boat and a few minutes later a girl with bushy hair asked if she could join them. the three boys exchange looks before Poseidon said she could and held her hand to help her climb in and sit next to Harry. While the boats sailed smoothly across the lake everyone was silent. That was until the red head from the train, now known as Ron Weasley, had been trying to show off and ended up falling into the lake and was now in the grip of a tentacle belonging to a giant squid. He wasn't being harmed by the large animal but seems to be a new toy making the other children laugh at the boy's predicament. Ron was released shortly after and dragged back into a boat everyone continued to the school, marveling at its beauty as they drew closer.
Once inside the castle, everyone followed Hagrid up the stairs to a set of large doors where a strict looking woman stood. "The first years, Professor McGonagall." Hagrid said. "Thank you, Hagrid. I will take them from here." The stern woman, Professor McGonagall said before leading all the first years to a chamber right off the great hall. Everyone crowded into the room and once it was quiet the professor started to speak. "Welcome to Hogwarts. The start of term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room." She stopped for a second before continuing. "The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours." She stopped for a minute again. "The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting." She finished her speech before walking away.
While she was gone everyone turned to each other and started talking about how they think they will be sorted. The only ones not talking were Poseidon and Draco. They just stood next to Hermione and Harry, who were talking about the same as everyone else, and talked silently through their eyes. Poseidon knew Draco was nervous, hell he was nervous too he just didn't show it as much. Poseidon finally leaned over into Draco's ear to whisper quietly to him where no one else could hear, "You have to calm down. Keep a straight face and keep your eyes forward. We cannot go in there looking like scared children like some of the people around us." Poseidon straightened back up and let Draco whisper back quietly to him, "What if we end up in different houses? You'll leave me again." Draco said, sounding on the edge of crying at the thought of us being separated. "No matter what happened. I won't leave you. Yes, we will have different schedules but I will still do everything I can to see you as much as possible, ok?" Poseidon tells his scared younger twin. Draco nodded his head yes and put his "pureblood mask", as dad likes to call it, in place just in time for Professor McGonagall to return.
"Now, form a straight line and follow me." She says before turning around. With a flick of her wand both large doors opened for us to enter the Great hall. The first years followed the professor to the front and huddled into the open area right in front of the stage with the teachers' table. While everyone quieted down Professor McGonagall grabbed an old wooden stool and an old witches hat and brought them to the front of the stage where everyone could see. The hat ripped open on the brim and started to sing.
Oh, you may not think me pretty, But don't judge on what you see, I'll eat myself if you can find A smarter hat than me. You can keep your bowlers black, your top hats sleek and tall, For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat And I can cap them all. There's nothing hidden in your head The Sorting Hat can't see, so try me on and I will tell you Where you ought to be. You might belong in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart; You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil; Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind; Or perhaps in Slytherin You'll make your real friends, Those cunning folks use any means To achieve their ends. So, put me on! Don't be afraid! And don't get in a flap! You're in safe hands (though I have none) For I'm a Thinking Cap
Everyone applauded the hat as it bowed to all four tables. Professor McGonagall held out a scroll in front of her to start reading off names. "Abbott, Hannah!" the girl walked up and sat on the stool while the professor put the hat on her head, a minute later the hat yelled out "Hufflepuff!" The cycle went on with the new students getting called one by one to go up and have their fate decided. It was about twenty minutes later and Hermione was sent to the Ravenclaw house and Ron was sent to Gryffindor. A nervous looking boy named Neville stood out to the Malfoy twins as he was very jittery as he walked up to the stool and being sorted into Hufflepuff, the most obvious house to put him in.
The name a lot of people were waiting to hear was finally called, "Harry Potter!" Harry took the longest time out of everyone for the hat to decide where to put him. Almost an entire three minutes longer than the hat had taken on everyone else the hat finally made its decision, "Ravenclaw!" It took everyone in the hall to react since they all thought he would go to Gryffindor but they soon started clapping for the famous boy who lived as he went to sit next to Hermione, both happy to have someone they already knew with them in their new environment.
"Draco Malfoy!" the younger Malfoy twin's name was called. Draco looked at Poseidon, who gave him a firm nod to let him know it's okay. Draco sat on the stool and the hat was gently put on his head. Once the hat was on it only took seconds to make a choice, "..."
