Y/n was sitting inside the car, her head leaned against the window. The radio was playing some of her favorite songs. On any other day, she would've danced and sang (yelled) along.
But no, the girl wasn't in the mood for that because, while her dad did his vigilante stuff, she was stuck there. Sitting in the car. Bored.
"I still don't get why I can't go with him." She muttered under her breath as she sat there, arms crossed, until the next words from the radio caught her attention.
We are sorry to interrupt this program, but moments ago police reported the death of the world's most eccentric and recluse billionaire. Sir Reginald Hargreeves.
"Reginald Hargreeves is dead?" The words slowly slipped out of Y/n's mouth but, before she could put much thought into them, the driver's seat door opened. Y/n jolted up at the sound, her head turning fast at the possibility of a burglar, only to find her dad. She sat back down and watched him. It seemed like he was trying to process something.
"I'm guessing you heard about what happened." Diego started the engine with a confused frown. "You know. About your dad." His confusion rapidly turned into surprise. He wasn't expecting that.
"Yeah, how'd..?" He trailed off, giving her a quick glance before turning to the road again.
"I heard it on the radio." Diego just nodded his head. "So,that's it? Nothing?"
"Well, I never liked him, so I can't really say I'll miss him. I'll just go to the funeral and come back home."
Y/n raised an eyebrow at that. "What do mean I? It's we."
"I'm not taking you to a funeral, Y/n."
"Why not? Don't you want me to say my goodbyes?"
Diego rolled his eyes at her comment, turning to her when he stopped at a red light.
"I said no, you never even met the man." He frowned slightly when he remembered something. "Besides, don't you have school tomorrow?"
"Fuck school! I wanna go too."
And like that, the two Hargreeves (yet again) went in a spiral of arguing and yelling at each other.

The girl was strolling down the hallways of her late grandfather's house. She wore black clothes, out of respect, with a pair of frog rain boots. Despite what her father had told her last night, she decided to follow, managing to find a way into the house. Without his knowledge, of course. She stopped in a halt when she heard a pair of voices coming from a room. As nosy as she was, she got closer to eavesdrop.
"What do you want?" Y/n lifted an eyebrow. That was a voice she definitely didn't recognize. "The officers report." And that was her dad's voice.
"And you have this, why?"
"Because I broke into the Colonel's office."
Y/n rolled her eyes with a little smirk. He'd always go (and break in) to the Colonell's office when he needed information.
"Surprise, surprise. Dad's death was normal. Just a boring old heart failure."
"Yeah, so?"
"So, why are you here? Checking all the windows?"
"Who was the first to find him?" The person ignored Diego's question.
Y/n let out a sigh and tuned out the conversation, leaning her body against the wall. She wasn't really understanding the situation. Not to mention, the gossip wasn't as good as she'd hoped. According to her dad's stories, her grandfather sounded like an asshole.
