Lexi woke up. Her alarm clock was so loud it hurt her ears. She got up and put on a flowery dress. It wasn't the kind of dress old women wear. It was bright and full of colors that glowed as if they were alive. The top of her dress was black with lace. She brushed through her lond blonde hair. She slipped some black slip on shoes on. She went to the bathroom and plugged in her straightening iron. She put on her makeup and then straightened her hair. She clipped a bright pink flower into her hair. She checked her phone. It was an iPhone 4s. Her case was pink and purple chettah that said love on it. She stuffed it in her purse. She walked down the hall and her dad was watching TV. Her mom was passed out on the other couch. "Bye" dad, she shouted, sure that her dad heard her. Her dad looked at her and turned back to the TV. He didn't say anything. Inside Lexi's heart ripped into a billion pieces. She swallowed her tears and tried to stay strong. She walked out the door and down the steps. She walked down the gravel drive way. She stood at her bus stop. Lexi was only 13 years old. She was in middle school. She didn't have many friends. The bus finally came and slid to a halt, screeching the tires against the asphalt. The doors opened fast. She climed up the stairs and looked at the back of the bus. There were kids of all ages screaming and jumping around. She walked down the aisle and toward the back. The mean girls sat in the very very back. She sat towards the middle of the bus. This was going to be a long day she thought.
