"It was an accident." The bloodied and beaten lump of flesh pleads, "I didn't mean to give away the location. Plea-"

The bullet leaves my gun before he can even finish begging to his life. He was a worm whose greed cost the lives of three of my men, such carelessness cannot go unpunished.

Waking from the basement, wiping my bloodied hands with a towel, I come across Marco sitting at the table, his head in his hands, a cigarette burning in the ashtray next to his whiskey.

He gets like this. These sudden waves of sadness and despair whenever he thinks of Amanda, and how she died alone without him even knowing, knowing how he felt about her.

Leaving him alone, I walk through the house and into my tech office. Three men are typing away furiously.

"The rat has been neutralised." I inform them, "but I want our defences better. Do it."

No one replies to me, it's too risky, instead they nod like cowards and continue to work.

Heading for my private floor, I type in the pin and step into the dark. Privacy is all that matters to me now.

Slumping down on the sofa, I crack my knuckles, watching as the blood from cuts pools and spills out over my knuckles.

"Boss?" Marco asks, bringing me out of my stupor, he is the only one who knows my code.

"Leave me alone." I snarl, clenching and unclenching my fists.

"Your sister wanted to know if you were free for dinner tomorrow night?"

"I said leave me alone! Get the fuck out! Just go!" I yell, standing to my feet and staring at him.

He flinches at my anger, knowing I'm a dangerous man when angry. Without another word, he walks from the room and closes the door behind him.

Sinking back down to the floor, I clutch at my head and stare vacantly at the blank wall in front of me. I try to conjure up any feeling other than rage, but it's futile.

All I have in my heart is anger, and vengeance. As Capo it is not only my responsibility to protect the business but also the family and the future.

Sophia is wild and untameable, mother is caring for father and that leaves me in charge and utterly alone.

My phone buzzes and vibrates on the glass table and I instantly jump into action and answer it.

"What?" I ask in a monotonous voice.

An even more robotic voice replies. It's computer edited so it's impossible to make out who is speaking.

"Your little woman," it says, "she's in trouble. Search for her name on the black market and you will find her there."

The voice is gone before I can even reply, but my pulse is hammering in my throat. Lucy, my Lucy is in trouble.

I take off, grabbing my gun in its holster and thunder down the hall, racing past guards and everyone until I find the computer room.
