The next morning was a familiarly comfortable whirlwind.

First there was the matter of inspecting the farm in Daegu. Her mom had taken her there that Sunday morning, and she had known as soon as she set foot on the grounds that this place would be perfect for her mother's vision.

Jennie smiled as she watched Kuma and Kai run around in the open field. They don't get this much freedom living in the city and the little dogs seemed to be making the most of it.

It felt much warmer, more welcoming than she had imagined. She realized she had expected the Daegu countryside to be more bare bones than anything else. But she felt something entirely different when the driveway had come into view.

A friendly series of sloping hills framed a large, comfortable looking house, which was tucked into the basin where the grassy curves met.

The drive was paved with old fashioned gravel, which crunched underfoot in a merry kind of way. Low hedges and unkempt wheat bushes lined the path. The vegetation was lush and traces of old fruit trees lined the house.

It will be perfect. That's what some blossoming voice inside of her kept saying. It grew warmer with a glow that felt like a sunrise inside of her as she stood outside the entrance and turned to look back out at the view.

They were at the top of a small mountain in the countryside. She could see down into villages, far in the distance. The breeze danced freely, as it does at such elevations, giving a sense of peace and removal from the world below.

Her mother began to sense her excitement as Jennie turned back around to look at her with a face that was probably quite alarmingly inspired.

Her eyebrows shot up and her lips tightened in the particular way they did, when her mom was restraining from teasing her. "I knew you would love it too"

"But Just hold on, alright?" Her mom said, "It's practically a war zone inside."

She hasn't seen Taehyung yet but from what she gathered he was inside the large house overseeing the renovations.

As they strode past the heavy, creaking wood of the front door, the atmosphere changed. It was considerably cooler inside. The door closed behind them with a satisfying thud and they were suddenly engulfed in artwork that seemed to transport them through time.

Jennie immediately felt like the inside of the house was trapped in another era. It was as though all traffic within had stopped a century ago, leaving it suspended in a more nostalgic time.

They left the small entryway and removed their shoes before stepping into the foyer. The floors were made of solid wood, though slightly cracked in places, and the walls were covered by what looked like local finger paintings of ancient Korea.

It was wonderful.

She walked to the middle of the room, looking up in amazement.

"It's perfect," she breathed, and her mother made a sound of agreement.

A deep voice came through the passageway as the man in question came to greet them.

"Annyeonghaseyo, sajangnim. You made it… Jennie-ssi?" He stops mid sentence at the sight of her.

"Hello Sunbae." She says embarrassed. The last time she saw him was two nights ago when she ran out of the party like a headless chicken.

"I hope you don't mind that I tagged along." Jennie says feeling more awkward than ever

"Not at all. I'm happy you're here Jennie." He says, giving her a soft smile.

He means it. Jennie can tell from the look he is giving her that he was worried about her. He had even tried to contact her when she had run out but after her confrontation and break up, she wasn't really in the mood to speak to anyone.
