The need for Adventure

Chapter 3

Y/N POV
I was listening in only Bendy's and Felix's conversation when they said that something might be eating the spiders. It made nervous because if there was as something eating these spiders it must've been huge! Felix saw the nervous look on mine and Bendy's face.
"But hey! Maybe whatever did this died a long time ago!" He said with nervousness and hope in his voice. "That can be a theory." He mumbled.
"Hmm.." Bendy went curiously.
"But then why would the corpses still look so.. Fresh? Instead of like.. Rotten." I asked. Bendy got an even more nervous look on his face.
"Or maybe it died recently!" Felix said quickly.
I quickly decided not to ask anymore questions. I backed away and started walking with Cuphead.
"So how's the little kitten doing?" I asked as Cuphead was petting it. The kitten was purring so I assumed it was fine.
"He's pretty fluffy! Reminds you of anyone?" Mugman said to his brother with a big smile on his face. They both just stared at each other. I lightly sighed.
"Everything okay Y/N?" Boris asked me, looking over his shoulder.
I nodded and went over to him. "Yeah everything's fine. Just kinda wish I had someone to talk to besides.. Eclipse." I shrugged.
I saw Bendy and Cuphead look at me then frown, like they felt bad.
Eclipse showed up beside me. She looked slightly offended but she didn't say anything. She only have a slight huff.
"Boris, how close are we to the piece? Can I see the map?" Eclipse asked.
"Oh well.. You can try. Bendy and I are really the only ones who can see the map." Boris said, pulling out the rolled up piece of paper.
"Just at least let me and Y/N try. Who knows? Maybe we're able to see it." Eclipse said.
"If Mugs and I can't see it I really doubt you'll be able to see it. I'm willing to bet 5 bucks that Y/N can see it and you can't." Cuphead said with a small blush on his face. Bendy walked over.
"I'm willing to take that bet. I bet Eclipse and Y/N can see it!" Bendy said confidently.
"What happens if you both lose and neither of them can see it?" Mugman asked them.
I lightly giggled as I waited for Boris to unroll the map.
"Bendy will pay Boris give bucks and I'll pay you give bucks." Cuphead responded with a grin as he nodded to me to look at the map. I did and Eclipse looked over my shoulder to see the map as well. It looked like a pretty simple map.
"Wait! I can see it! Can you see it Eclipse?" I asked her looking up at her. She had her head tilted to the side. She seemed confused. "Can you?"
"Ha! No she can't! Bendy pay me my five bucks!" Cuphead responded. Eclipse lifted her tail and dragged it over Cuphead's head. "Hey hey! Your getting dirt in my hair!" Cuphead shouted.
"It's not that I can't see it! It's just that.. It's saying the piece is right here. Or am I reading it wrong? Y/N? Boris?" Eclipse said as Cuphead was trying to get the dirt out of his hair. I looked at it again to realize she was right! Boris looked at the map and his tail began to wag.
"Gosh, it looks like it's just up ahead! This is it you guys.." Boris said with the most happy look I've ever seen. It looked really cute.
There was suddenly a loud crunch that made Eclipse and I jump back.
"Hm?" Boris went to our reaction.
"Shhhh!" Felix went and Boris gave a confused look.
We all peaked over the edge and saw it was a giant creepy looking mermaid. Eclipse gulped. Mugman went behind Cuphead. It looked like it was eating. Bendy had a look of love on his face.
"So... Heh.. He likes em "big"?" Cuphead said trying to hold his laughter back.
"Those are his favorite.." Boris said, pointing at Bendy. This made me feel something. I felt slightly.. Jealous? I wonder why. Bendy was leaning over the edge and nearly fell. Eclipse reacted quick and caught him by his shirt in her jaw. She pulled him back and placed him down beside Felix.
"Bendy! Focus!" Felix whisper yelled.
"O-Oh sorry." Bendy replied. "Thanks for catching me and saving me." He said to Eclipse. Eclipse nodded to him before looking at Felix.
"So.. What is that thing? I feel like I remember reading something about it." Eclipse whispered to Felix.
Felix put his paw to his chin, thinking he snapped up realizing it.
"So that's why it looked so familiar. It was a "high sea-mermaid"!" Felix said quietly. "I guess I didn't recognize it cause she was in her sleeping form."
"Of course!" Eclipse said, smacking her forehead with her paw. "I should've recognized it sooner because I was reading about her and I saw her in her sleeping form! I didn't recognize it because the water was messing with my eyes! By the moon how did I not see it sooner!"
"Shhh!" Mugman said.
"But like the "boulder spiders".. Why is she giant?" Felix asked. We all turned to Eclipse since she said she did some reading on it.
"Years.. Of course." Eclipse said with a small smile forming on her face.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Bendy asked.
"Development! Though the course of years and years of development it could've made her increase her-" Eclipse was saying but Cuphead interrupted her.
"We don't need a boring old history lesson!" Cuphead said as he stood beside me. "How do we get around her?"
Boris got a disturbed look on his face as he looked up at the High-Sea Mermaid.
"I don't think we need to get around her... The part is in her head!" Boris said.
That's when the reality set in. Bendy had a disturbed and scared look. Mugman looked like he was regretting coming on this adventure. Cuphead frowned and leaned away. His head gently bumping my shoulder. Felix looked like his heart had just dropped. I felt the fear and realization set in, I was scared and worried. Eclipse didn't seemed fazed.
"So.." Eclipse said, causing all of us to look at her. "How are we going to kill her?"
