"How would you have done something wrong?" He asked me. "I don't know it was just the tone of your voice and what you said and-" I stopped myself, realizing I had gone on a rant. "Sorry." I said with a shaky breath. "Don't be sorry, Sage. I should be saying sorry. I didn't know you would take it like that," He sighed. "Putting that aside, I only said that because I prefer bongs." He light-heartedly chuckled. "Oh, I understand." I said, smiling.
"You sound like you have an accent, where are you from if you don't mind me asking?" He questioned. "Oh, I'm from America but I got a lot of the Italian genes. It's sorta weird hearing this in such a feminine voice." I sighed. "Oh, no way me too!" His voice rang through my ears. "That's awesome dude!" I smiled. "Where are you residing?" I asked him. "Oh, Melbourne. I live here by myself, but most of my friends also live here!" He smiled. "Oh that's cool! I live in downtown Melbourne by myself. I offered to bring some people with me but they said no." I said with a nervous laugh. "I can completely understand that. I only have one other American that wanted to live down here with me." He laughed.
The night went on as we talked and talked, things occasionally going quiet because we were running out of ideas for conversation.
"So would you want to meet up?" He asked quietly. "Are you kidding? I'd love to!" I smiled. "Really? That's awesome! Thank you!" He smiled. "No need for you to thank me. Do you think we could meet up at like a café or something?" I asked. "That would work! What about Coffee Exchange? It looks like a nice place. 1 PM Tomorrow?" He told me. "Sure! Whatever is good with you is good with me." I smiled.

"What the fuck do I wear. It's basically a blind date!" I yelled over the phone. "Okay, calm down. It's not like you have to go all out, Sage," My brother, Mason, sighed over the phone. "Plus who is this dude? Will he try and kill you?" He asked, while I went through my closet. "Don't worry about it. Anyways, I think I'm gonna wear a light green crop top with a pair of ripped jeans?" I said, laying the outfit out on my bed. "I like that. It's not too showy and it's not too lifeless." I could basically hear his smile. "Thank you, Maso. Be careful when you go out later today, love you." I told him. "Same to you, love ya, retard."
I got into my car, an older model of a matte black sports car. It's still in good shape though, it works well and hasn't had any problems. I plugged my phone into the AUX, playing "After Dark" My Mr. Kitty. Honestly, just listened to that the whole way there because it's the best song ever.
I slipped my phone and keys into my bag, my favourite light blue backpack. The sound of my shoes against the pavement made a hard "Clack" sound. I had my mask on because Covid is still a thing, and my stupid phobia scares me of everything. I hate that I was cursed with this shit. I walked into the Café, hoping he was there already but he wasn't. How could he be late for a date he planned? I walked up to the counter, ordering a hot chai latte in a mug. I picked a booth that was quite easy to see, in case he came in. A waitress brought me the drink in a white mug that had the logo on it. I stayed on my phone until I saw a pair of shoes walk in ng towards me. I looked up, it was an average height dude with medium length hair and a beard and mustache. He was fine. "C-could I help you?" I choked out. "You Sage?" He asked politely.
