Without love and laughter there is no joy. Live amid love and laughter

When your friends and you are criminal profilers of the FBI, life is never easy. But when they are overprotective of you, one knows how Spencer Reid feels.

It is very much a given that as the baby of the group, he must be protected. This is why they are in this situation.

Spencer just got back to Quantico and he got a phone call from his girlfriend. She had just gotten off a flight from New York to Virginia and was on her way to pick him up.

Persephone Jackson was her name and did Spencer miss her, yes. He was all giddy and had a bounce in his step.

The team saw this and alarm bells rang through their heads. The less they know about this girl, the more they would not rest until they conducted a full background check.

They snapped out of watching Spencer go through files when the elevator dinged. In came a beautiful young woman. She held an air of carefree confidence. Simply dressed in a sea green romper and white running shoes.

Spencer looked up and a broad smile appeared on his face. He stood up and hurried over to her.

"Sephie! I can't believe you're here! How was the flight? I recall you hated flying." Spencer rambled. "It was fine Spence, the flight was ok, the gods were on my side today." the woman dubbed 'Sephie', laughed. The two embraced then someone cleared their throat.

It was Hotch, looking as stoic and intimidating as ever. But Sephie was not fazed in the slightest. She has faced the worst of the worst in the depths of Tartarus, this mortal is nothing in comparison.

"Oh, how rude of me. Hi I'm Persephone Jackson, Sephie for short" the girl greeted. "SSA Aaron Hotchner. Have we met before? Your name sounds familiar" he replied.

"No we haven't sir" the young lady began. "Spencer has told me so much about you and the rest of the team. It's good to put faces to the names" she finished with a small grin forming. Emily and J.J. approached her and introduced themselves.

Derek, David, and Hotch pulled Spencer aside while the girls chatted "Reid! Where the hell did you find a girl like that ?" Derek teased. "New York, actually" Spencer says looking him dead in the eye.

"Reid, why is her name so familiar?" David questioned. "12 years ago, she was kidnapped along with some other kids. It was all over the news, maybe that's why" Spencer explained. The three older profilers looked to each other, they need to look that up.

"17 years?! You knew Spencer for 17 years and he never introduced you to us?" Penelope yells, it seems the rainbow bat came out of her unicorn cave.

Spencer looks to his watch and smiles. They still have a half an hour.
"Hey Sephie" Spencer called out, making the women turn to look at him. "We still have that reservation at the restaurant" he reminded his girlfriend.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot" she said while nodding her head to Emily, JJ and Penelope. Spencer reached out his hand, which she took and they made their way to the elevator.

The Profilers looked at each other and collectively agreed, that lady needs to be background checked. She may seem nice but they had to be safe for Spencer's sake.

Penelope rushed to get her laptop and began searching. From news articles of her kidnapping, and school records, this girl had a colorful life.

But what shocked them was that since she was 12 years old, she would disappear for sometime then reappear before something big would happen. From her kidnapping, to the eruption of Mt Saint Helens. This girl then disappeared her junior year of high school. She was spotted in California months after. After that it was quiet in terms of events.

Once she graduated, the only contact she seemed to have were postal. She took a plane to California, and stayed there for four years presumably for college then took a plane back New York. She is also the heiress of Olympian Corp.

"Well, who says we should follow them to the restaurant?" Morgan spoke up. The others nodded, grabbed their coats, and headed out. All but Garcia, she stayed behind to do more snooping.

They saw the pair at Xenia, a restaurant owned by Sephie's family, It was ran by her mother, Sally. It was packed and the aroma of the food was heavenly.

They saw Spencer and Sephie sit in one of the booths. The boy genius was smiling as they ate. The two we're sitting across from one another, the team had a clear view of Reid's face but only the back of Jackson's head. The team pretended to be conversing about something while stealing glances at Persephone and Spencer.

"Why are you spying on my cousin?" A voice came from the shadows, it was a young man (as far as they know). He looked very much like Sephie, but ghostly pale, dark irises that looked like an endless pit.

The team jumped and drew their weapons. "Sephie sure knows how to pick'em" the man mumbles while putting his hands up in a sign that he was not a threat.

"Who are you?" Derek spoke up. "Nico Di Angelo, Sephie Jackson's cousin. Now, why were you spying on her?" The newly dubbed 'Nico' asked with a glare that could kill.

The agents lower their weapons. "We're just being on the right side of caution. We just met her an hour ago, so we're just keeping an eye on them" Rossi explained. "You're protective Spencer, I can see that. But I also see that you have probably heard of the things that happened to Sephie. Just remember, nothing is black and white in our family." Nico warned them before making his way to the restaurant to see Sally and get his monthly tin of blue chocolate chip cookies.

When they looked back at Spencer, and he was looking right at them. The team didn't notice the raven with electric blue eyes watching them from a table a little distance away.

Then a text came to their phones, it read 'Well, I didn't think you'd actually spy on us.' . Then Spencer handed Sephie a small bag, he had lost a bet.

"And that kids, was time I learned never to bet against your mother" Spencer Recounted the story to his children.
