------------------------(William)-------------------------It's been a day since I broke up with someone I thought I'd get married to, and I feel like shit.
"..."
I woke up 2 hours ago but I'm still laying on the couch. My eyes feel so dry. Probably from crying a lot.
"..."
I don't know what to do. I don't remember what plans I had today.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
Someone is at the door. It might be Ellis...
Before I could think of what to do, the door opened.
"??"
I think I forgot to lock the door. I feel really stupid.
???: "Hey Will!"
That certainly doesn't sound like Ellis.
???: "You made me wait for 3 hours!"
"Oh."
I was supposed to meet up with Amy today.
She goes in my field of vision.
Amy: "Are you still sleeping?? It's 11:30 in the morning!"
I look at her.
"Amy..."
Amy: "???"
"I feel like shit...."
Amy: "W-What do you mean? Are you okay? Are you sick? Did you-"
"I just broke up with Ellis yesterday."
She stares at me blankly for a second then sits next to me, pulls me into a sitting position, and looks at me.
Amy: "Will!" She said happily.
She places both of her hands on my shoulders.
Amy: "Are you alright? It's okay to cry you know?"
These words... destroyed the last barrier in my mind.
*sob*
And I broke down crying. She hugged me in response.
Amy: "It's okay. Let it all out."
I cried for hours. While Amy was there for me comforting me.
[After I calmed down]
We were still hugging and I have to admit.
It's awkward now.
"Thanks for all this but I have to say we have been hugging for too long." I laugh at the end.
Amy: "It's fine. This is what..."
She paused for a few seconds.
Amy: "Friends. Are supposed to do."
She let go of me.
"Amy, we aren't just friends anymore."
She grasped my hands.
Amy: "What are we now then?"
She sounded excited.
"We are..."
She got closer to me. I moved back.
"Best friends now."
Her face showed a mixture of shock and disappointment.
"Do you not like the idea?"
Amy: "N-No! Not at all! In fact."
She let go of my hand and stood up.
Amy: "Let's order some pizza to celebrate!"
"Oh, nice! Are you paying for it though?"
Amy: "... Y-Yeah I'm paying."
She really is my best friend.
Amy: "I'll go outside for some better service."
"Thanks again Amy, this really made my day a lot better."
Amy: "N-No problem! Like I said this is what friends do!"
I heard the door open and close. She must be outside now.
"..."
Having friends is great. Especially someone as great as Amy!
I'm happy and proud to be friends with her.
I couldn't ask for a better friend than her.
