Chapter 8: Nobody's Home

*Jason POV*

I'd been driving for hours until I reached Littlestown, Pennsylvania. It almost pissed me off that she ran away with him, but there was nothing I could do.

She trusted him, he was her best friend who had been with her for years.

I should have tried harder, made sure she was safe.

Checked her phone, did everything I could to save her from being inflicted in any sort of pain.

I soon saw the small little wooden sign that welcomed me.

I was not in a mood to be welcomed. I just came for my daughter and that was it.

I picked up my phone and called the number my princess called me on.

The few rings it took for someone to hit that green button were the worst.

I was almost scared that she lied to me.

"Hello?" A small delicate voice answered the phone, in which I assumed was the old lady that had found Olivia in Pennsylvania.

"Hi, um, is Olivia there? I'm her father and I need to let her know I'm here and I need the address."

"Ahh yes Olivia's father. We live 244 Ewells RD. Olivia is sleeping at the moment."

"Okay. I'll be there in a few minutes." I put the address into my GPS, and started to drive as the weird, annoying, monotone voice told me to.

I pulled up into a small, warm looking little cottage that held my beautiful baby girl. Before I could even get two feet on the ground, I was hit wit a small forced that pushed me back into my car.

"Dad! I-I'm sorry! I-I d-didn't m-mean to!" Olivia. Of course.

"It's okay princess. It's alright because I'm here now. Let's go talk to them for a minute then we'll leave. Okay?" She nodded. Her face was completely clear of make up and her hair was wavy, which meant she took a shower.

I know my kid, and she hated her wavy hair and a clear face.

I honestly didn't mind it. She looked her best this way. She led me to the door and a quite old lady was in the kitchen cooking something that smelled like ass.

And I would know.

"Hi, I'm Jason McCann, Olivia's father. I just wanted to say how thankful I am for taking care of my daughter until I could get to her." The lady's eyes flashed a certain fright when I had mentioned my name. "Okay yes.. I am the Jason McCann, but I swear I have my crap together. I'm just a normal dude who wanted his daughter back."

"No.. You're my granddaughters husband aren't you?" That's when I was seriously creeped the fuck out.

"Um.. I'm married to Olivia's mother, Alison."

"Alison Jennings?"

"It's Jennings-McCann. It's a joint name. Like Olivia's."

"Yes! My granddaughter went missing when she was twelve! But her father was killed many years ago. Bright blonde hair, deep brown eyes?"

"Ma'am I'm sorry. My wife doesn't have any family left but us, I really must be going. She's expecting me and Olivia home as soon as possible. But thank you for taking care of her." I grabbed Olivia's arm and led her out of that fucking place as fast as I could. There was no way I was staying there a second longer.

"What did you mean when you said 'yes I'm the Jason McCann'?"

"Nothing."

"It meant something because that lady knew mom and you."

"It's nothing Olivia I promise. You don't need to worry about it."

"Obviously I do. She knew about our family and that's creepy as hell."

"Don't swear. Your mom will kick my ass if she finds you're swearing."

"You just swore and you're not allowed to."

"Yeah well me and your mom fuck so I can swear all I want."

"Ew!"

There. Enough to keep her quiet for a while.
