Chapter 16: Is Such An Easy Thing To Do
*Olivia POV*
Going on your first date was scary for any teenager.
Unless you're a whore and you think all is well for you and you're the shit or something.
Getting ready was almost scary.
Was my eyeliner right?
Was one eye darker than the other?
Was it okay that I wore shorts?
All these questions were giving my date anxiety or something. Probably not anxiety but I was scared nonetheless.
Austin had all these beautiful girls about him and he still fell in love with me and there's nothing that makes me happier than that.
But hopefully this wasn't going to be one of those love stories that the two best friends fall in love, one messes up and they leave each other.
I didn't want to lose Austin.
He was my best friend, my rock and I don't know where I would be without him by my side supporting me through everything that's happened so far in life.
And for that, I could thank him a million times and it still wouldn't be enough for all the thanks he deserves for being the best, best friend anyone could ever ask for and being there for me when no one else was.
"Olivia! Austin is here!" I quickly grabbed my small sparkly purse, which matched my ring that belonged to my grandmother, who was my dads mom.
"Coming!" I wore a sequined dress that hopefully was good enough for this date.
While I walked down the stairs I was scared.
Maybe my dad didn't approve of my dress.
Maybe Austin didn't really love me
Maybe Austin would see my and reject me forever
Maybe a better offer will come along
It happens in all of those stupid love movies, they leading guy leaves the girl because he found a better offer.
"You look beautiful honey." My dad look shocked, like this was his little girl going on her first date with a boy whom he didn't really like at all.
"Thanks dad."
"He's right Olivia. You look absolutely stunning." My mother complimented.
"Thanks mom."
Austin couldn't say anything.
His jaw was wide open in shock.
"Th-They're right.. Oh my god.. Olivia you look amazing.. You look stunning.. Oh my god, there are no words in the English language to describe how freaking beautiful you look right now."
"Well if you hurt her Austin I'll make you suffer. And I think we all know that I'll do anything to protect what I love."
"Of course sir. Hurting her would be like hurting my own mother. It would hurt me physically, mentally, and emotionally. I love her Mr. McCann and I'm sorry I'm taking away your little girl, but I mean.. I hope you approve of me enough to where you respect me on a level that you can trust me with your daughter to love her and cars for her as you do with your wife."
"Good answer little man. Be back by nine, not a second later, I will watching. I always am."
"We know dad. I'll see you in a few hours."
"Be careful sweetie." I smiled, hugging my parents.
My brothers were in the living room without a care in the world, not even caring their sister was going on her first date.
"I will mom and dad. Love you."
Since Austin couldn't drive yet, he was 15 and only had his permit like I did, I started when I was 14 with drivers training, they was a freaking limo in front of my house. How did I not notice this?
"This is.."
"I promise when I get my license I'll drive, but this is the best I can do right now."
"Okay. Where are we going anyways?"
"Somewhere."
"What's the name of this somewhere?"
"It's a surprise."
"Not nice."
"I don't care. You'll find out soon enough."
I smiled, leaving it to him. He was casually dressed, but it was like a formal casual.
He was wearing a white button down, with a tie, and a black vest, black skinny jeans and black Supras.
I guess he felt a little dark today.
I felt like a light bright next to him with my sparkly top and purse with my grandmothers wedding ring. My white skirt didn't help me either because he was wearing all these dark colors and I was wearing these light colors.
"Did I tell you, that you look absolutely beautiful?"
"I think you mentioned it."
"Good. Because you do look absolutely beautiful."
"You look somewhat decent."
"Whatever. I look hot."
He was right, he did look hot.
"Where are we going?"
"I'm not telling you."
"Why?"
"Because. It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you."
"So..?"
"So I want it to be a surprise because I'm 99.99% sure you're going to love it. And in order for you to love it, it needs to be a sparse because then it will be ruined and no one loves s ruined surprise."
"Maybe I do."
"Liar. I know you don't."
"Maybe I changed."
"Yeah.. I'll believe that for two seconds."
"Please?"
"Nope. Good luck getting it out if me."
"Can you at least tell me if we're close or not?"
"We'll be there in a few minutes."
"Few minutes regular time or few minutes Austin time?"
Austin has a tendency to say something will not be long but he'll do it for like hours.
I don't trust his time judgement.
"Normal people. Just relax and trust me. I'm not going to hurt you and I'm sure you'll love it."
"Really?"
"Positive."
The rest of the ride consisted is us and useless banter.
I was almost nervous for this date.
