𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎 - 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬

Y/N sits in History class as her teacher teaches the class. "All right, we're gonna be starting a project on any event in history to present with a partner as long as it's not offensive to others. We do not need another incident like last year." Ms. Hinges explains shuddering. "What happened last year?"

Lola leans over to ask Y/N. "Oh I heard it was some crazy shit." Y/N responds before looking back at the teacher. "So instead of you choosing your partners this year I will be choosing them myself." the teachers says.

After class Y/N looks at the paper hoping she got Lola as a partner but to her surprise it was someone she wasn't expecting. "Hey, Partner." Jackson says walking up behind her. Y/N smiles "Hey, so it looks like we're working together for like the fifth time in row." Y/N says.

"I can ask the teacher to give me another partner if you want-" Jackson says but Y/N cuts him off. "Oh no, I'm okay with us being partners."

"Really?" Y/N nods.

"Well you can come over later so we could work on our project." Jackson suggests. "Sure I'll come over after school." Y/N says. "Actually, you can ride with me if you want." Jackson states.

"Sure that's fine."

Jackson sends her a smile "Well I'll see you after school." Y/N sends one back and the two walk their separate ways.

After school Y/N and Jackson went to his house to work on the project. When they get there Jackson turns to Y/N. "What?" she asks.
"Are you sure you don't want to switch partners because we can." Jackson stated.

"J, Chill. I'm good. It was just a little unexpected. And we've known each since I don't know like the fifth grade, so yeah." Y/N says. The two get out of car and go to the door.

Opening the door Jackson and Y/N walk inside "Your parents here?" Y/N asks. "No they're probably at the dealership." Jackson replies.

"Where's your sister?"

"With Yasmine and Moon. And Anthony, if I'm being honest I have no idea where he is." Jackson says and Y/N nods. "So shall we get started kind sir?" Y/N spoke with a posh voice.

Jackson chuckles "Of course madam."

After some time the two of them work on their project. "Can you believe that all of this stuff happened during the Great Depression. I mean I know it was bad, but wow!" Y/N spoke as the two of them wrote in their journals. "I know." Jackson responds and the room becomes silent.

"So, I don't know if you know this but I may or not be interested in karate again." Y/N says trying to change the subject. "No way. Seriously!" Jackson chuckled. "Yes, seriously. I'm not gonna tell you why, but just know that I can still kick yo ass any day." Y/N nudges him.

Jackson turns to Y/N "Oh the last time I checked, you were pinned." Y/N scoffs "Sam only beat me because I had a cramp in my leg." she rolls her eyes. "All right, All right." Jackson puts his hands up in defense.

After awhile of working on the project Y/N realized that it was 3:30 and that she had to get home. "Shit, J. I gotta go." Y/N says. "It's fine. I think we might be done for right now anyway." Jackson says. "All right well if you need help on your part of the project there's a thing called Siri and Google." Y/N says grabbing her bag.

"Ah! That's the Y/N I know, always so helpful." Jackson says grinning. "Ew don't do that. You look weird." Y/N jokes. "Ha. Ha. Oh yeah, you should come back for Friday family dinner." Jackson says. "No offense, but I'm not family and I literally just met your dad for the first time not too long ago." Y/N says. "Well...."

"And plus I'm sure my dad will go so fucking ballistic." Y/N continues. "Come on, be reckless for once. Damn." Jackson says. "Are you saying I'm not reckless. Screw you!" Y/N gasped playfully.

"So..." Jackson says.

Y/N thought about it for a second "All right, what's the worst that could happen?" she says.

"All right!" Jackson cheered.

"Calm down, boy." Y/N laughed as the two did their secret handshake. "I'll see you then." the two say in unison. "Bye." Jackson says.

"Bye." Y/N says back leaving the house and heading home. When Y/N reached Reseda apartments she ran into Miguel. "Hey!" She smiles. "Hey, um I have some good news." Miguel spoke. "Really, okay. Don't leave me hanging!" Y/N says.

"My mom says I can do karate again." Miguel says and Y/N quickly hugs him. Unexpectedly Miguel hugs her back "Miguel that's amazing!We gotta tell my dad." Y/N tells him. Since Johnny wasn't at home he was most likely at the dojo.

When the two arrived Johnny walked out of his office "My mom says I can train again." Miguel exclaims. "She did?" Johnny asks and he receives a nod from Miguel. "I mean that's if we still have the dojo." Miguel says. "We do for now." Johnny walks towards the two. "All right, but I need to know, are you two ready to take things to the next level?" Johnny spoke.

"Yes, sensei." Y/N and Miguel respond.

"You got your ass kicked because you didn't have any defense. So I'm gonna teach you the best defense that you can know." Johnny says walking around Y/N and Miguel. "And the best defense... Is more offense." Johnny says.
