Y/N POV

I got out of bed, brushed my teeth, and got dressed before tending to my animals. Chickens, cows, and sheep. These are my only friends. "Oh crap, I never dried the water! Oh, he's going to be so pissed!" I shouted at myself. After all, I'm in a desolate location so no one's going to investigate my shouts. I went back inside and started a fire while sitting in my chair. As the flames flickered, memories seared their way into view. I saw the monster I was, kidnapping a girl because I was lonely. That week caused her to spiral into something dark and twisted. Yet, I couldn't see it until that day.

"Why am I so damn evil?!" I shouted into my hands. I then looked over at my lasso and had an idea. I slowly stood up grabbing the noose-like object. "Stop! Don't do this!" Weiss' voice shouted from behind me. I turned around to face the urn. An image of her flickered into view.

"No, go on, do it. Get it over with, just let go," the Phantom said holding up the rope.

"No! You're not real stop it!" I shouted dropping the rope to the ground. After this, the two of them merged into one.

"Fucking weakling, I should have killed you when we met," Weiss said getting within inches of my face.

I clutched my head, reeling between reality and fiction. "Get the hell out of my head!" I shouted before tossing the urn across the room. Glass shattered but no ashes came out. The original ashes had already been spread years ago. I stumbled back until I leaned against the wall and sank down now curling into myself and clutching my head.

"Not real, not real, not real..." I chanted withdrawing further into myself. Until I heard some absolutely angelic singing.

As she sang, I felt myself reawaken. Yet, at the same time, I don't want to. Not after I'd hurt so many people. Weiss, Raoul, Jaune, and Ruby all because of my actions. After this voice finished I responded with a song of my own. Even though I haven't sung in all these years, this deserves a response.

CYBR POV

"It's not working?!" Ruby whisper-yelled to her team. Blake and Yang shrugged while Charrie listened to the anguish and guilt. But, a memory came into view from a distant time. She knew exactly how to lift his spirits.

Everyone stood silent as he exited his home. Carrying his mask in hand. He gently placed the mask over his face with a shaking hand. Now joining for the finish. "Floating, falling..." is where he started with the two having this duet. However, this meant this was one they both knew.

Y/N POV

After we finished our song I wrapped the mysterious woman into my arms. "Thank you so much, thank you," I whispered before pulling myself away. Only now did I recognize her. "Hey, you're that person I rescued yesterday," I said before removing my mask. "So, girls, good to see you again," I said before heading into my house again.

They followed close behind. "Y/n, why didn't you find us after what happened?" Yang asked, sensing that I don't want to fight.

"Are you kidding? I stole Bumblebee and was framed for murder. I left the same day I killed Weiss. I've spent years in isolation to repent for what I'd done, besides... you were happy weren't you?" I asked while looking toward Ruby.

I then turned my attention toward their newer member. "So, what's your name little one?" I asked while pouring some vodka, she now introduced herself. "Charrie, why do I know that name?" I asked myself. She showed me a picture of her and Weiss when they were kids.

"Oh, so that's who you are? Well, she sure had a lot to say about you after you stole her previous boyfriend," I said now gulping the drink down.

"Let me tell you something, I-"

"You killed him, I know," she said not really caring to dig up the past. I gave a confused glance before remembering that I set her off just before that.

She shyly rubbed her arm and took a step closer. "I was jealous of Weiss you know, after your performance in front of the school, I never forgot that song," she said.

"I could tell, you got it word for word, I never even sang that since that day... I'm actually jealous of you right now believe it or not, who taught you how to sing like that?" I asked, in response she shrugged.

"I'm self-taught, but you gave me the passion for it," she said before giving me a rose. I looked at her face and saw the smallest sign of a blush as she gave me the flower.

"Thank you, I guess you know that these are my favorite," I said with a chuckle.

"Would you... I don't know, wanna come back home with us?" Charrie asked. I looked at my animals and shook my head.

"Nah, I need to care for these guys," I said before Charrie gave me a new proposal.

"You can bring them with you, I have the land for them," she said and I now have no reason to object.

"Fine, by the way, I'm sure they told you about me. I'm not head over heels for you, that kind of thing is in the past," I said before leaving my house and whistling for them to follow.

One by one, my animals joined me around the pier. After a few hours, Charrie had a ship ready for us to leave. And a whole day later we arrived at the Onyx estate. It was only when I got there I realized how free I felt, and the reasoning. I left my lasso and masks in the cottage. Whoever the Phantom was...

He's not me. Not anymore.
