Readers POV

When thinking about an apocalypse, I always thought I would either be the first or the last to die. Definitely don't think I'm going to be the last, but at least I'm not a rotting corpse.

We were all in separate places when we found out about the zombies. Frank and Ray were god knows where, Gerard and Mikey were home, and I was at a comic book store. Shitty, I know. After hearing about it and leaving the store, I quickly drove to Gerard and Mikey's house. They weren't there, so I went to Frank house then Ray's, but neither of them were there.
They probably couldn't find me and then just left to find shelter. God, I hope they're okay.

So now I'm running through the woods with a bag full of probably stale saltines, some clothes, 3 water bottles, a gun, and a bat that was partially out of the bag.
I stopped to catch my breath against a big tree stump. I placed my bag down next to me as I looked around.

"I swear to god, if a zombie shows up, I'm bolting." I mumbled to myself.

I heard a tree branch crack and some rustling leaves. I quickly grabbed the loaded gun from my backpack and got up. I was ready to run if I needed to, but I kind of wanted to shoot this fucker.

The leaves ruslted more before something stepped into sight. I held my gun up, eyes narrowed, ready to shoot.

"Y/N!"

I opened my eyes fully, it was Mikey!

"Holy shit dude, you scared me!" I said, lowering the gun as I ran up and hugged him.

"Yeah, sorry about that." He sighed, tired.

"Does that mean Gerard is with you?"

"Oh.." Mikey paused, "I was hoping he would be with you."

"Dude what! How do you not know where he is, he would never leave you, especially in a situation like this!"

"He went to come find you, he made me come with him, then we were waiting at a tree house and he said he'd be right back but.." Mikey trailed off.

"He hasn't come back," I looked down, "Okay, well, we're going to go find him."

Mikey looked nervous, but I reassured him it would all be okay. We started down a dirt path that we found after wandering for a while. It was narrow and dangerous but held no sign of zombies.

"Y/N?"

"Yeah?" I said, looking back at Mikey.

"What if.. what if Gerard is.. what if he didn't make it?" He asked, scared.

"I.. Mikey, Gerard is fine, I know it. Now let's just keep going."

We walked all the way until the end of the path where there was a small wooden tree house. I looked back at Mikey, he nodded. This was where they were before. I climbed up the creaky steps with Mikey following. We searched the tree house, but the only thing we could find was ammo. I quickly grabbed it and shoved it in my bag.

"Uh, Y/N?" Mikey trembled.

"What Mikey?" I said, still messing with my bag.

He didn't respond.

"Mikey?" I said, picking up my bag and turning around.

There were about 10 zombies coming towards the tree house.

"Shit."

I was mentally screaming. I wasn't going to let Mikey die. Me, however, well, that was a different matter.
I grabbed his hand and dragged him out the back of the tree house. Thank god zombies are slow.
