August's life has been the fairest. It was too fair that her childhood was amazing but when it comes to high school she falls apart. Losing everything she ever had. Home. Parents. Life to begin with.

Now she always describes her life as a balance as it goes from being the greatest to being the most traumatic life someone could ever experience.

July 1984

August entered the house. She wore this white cardigan and pants that she usually wears while her hair was tied in a bun. Her eyes looked a little tired and were shining but more of shining because of tears. Though it didn't quite catch her mother's attention thinking it was just the effect of the sun as her eyes were usually sensitive to the sun.She just came home from school aka the most tiring place she'll ever be in.

"August, hey you're home," her mother said as if she was shocked August was home.

She notices the sudden change in her mother's expression. She was always happy when she got home but now it seems like she didn't want her there "Am I interrupting something?"

"No honey," Audrey said. She kept moving as if she was stressed and anxious about something.

Suddenly something appeared, it had uncanny shapes as of a monstrous creature but what was worse was it was a monstrous creature. It growled looking for their next victims. The monsters were terrifying. They were tall, had no face and their heads were flower-like.

"What's that?" August said, squinting trying to get a grasp on what she just saw while Audrey covered her mouth so the monsters wouldn't hear them and pulled her under the table to hide.

"You need to tell me what the hell is that?" she whispered angrily. Although August genuinely needed an answer she knew how to blend in she knew her mother did that to protect her and if she wouldn't have whispered that would've meant the monsters would eat them alive.

Audrey held August's hand so August would put all her attention to her "You have to trust me, okay?"

"I can't trust you if you don't tell me what the hell is that?" she said as her voice was shivering and her body was trembling in fear.

"You don't want to know, okay? just please trust me in this"

"Fine," she whispered, quivering with fear.

"I need you to get those bats up there. I will distract them okay?"

"Where's dad?" she said noticing her father wasn't with them and how he could be in danger.
