I found a magazine in one of the shelves in the house, so I decided to read it. I was sat in my room that was lit with light of the lamp. It reminded me of my own house, that I hadn't seen in a million days. It must have gotten all dusty and moist.
Suddenly there were loud sounds coming from the ground floor. I peeped out of my room to get a glance of the scene only to see Jay pushing Nathan up against the wall. I immediately flung the door open and ran down stairs. Siva grabbed hold of my hand from behind as he stopped me in my tracks.
"What are you doing?" I shouted to Jay.
"We need to take you to our boss for a few seconds." He said calmly, still holding Nathan tightly against the wall. I looked at Nathan assured him that I will be alright, but he didn't look convinced. Siva began dragging me outside the house. Nathan tried pushing Jay away and stopping them, but Jay was a very strong man. He completely held his ground, and I could hear Nathan's screams as Siva pushed me into the car.
"Why does Danny need me right now! It's so late!" I grumped angrily.
"Some business! He's been going crazy with this mission lately." Siva sighed in the driver's seat. We watched as Jay quickly locked the door from outside and made his way to the car.
"Guys, I'm quitting this task." I said softly from the back.
"WHAT?" They both said in unison.
"Yes. I can't do this. Nathan is innocent. I can't watch him hurt like that." I explained.
"But.. But Danny's not going to let you!" Siva stuttered.
"He wanted to give you guys this job because apparently I wasn't 'good enough'" I told them.
"But Kiara. We need your help!" Jay whined.
"I'm sorry." Was all I had left to say. I really was, but I couldn't be so selfish to trouble somebody who was completely innocent. Keeping him trapped in that house was insane and he hasn't even done anything wrong to deserve such treatment.
As we reached the office, I quickly made my way to Danny's room. I wanted to end this once and for all. And like always he wasn't there. I sat by the couch in his room, waiting for him to make an appearance. However, he took long and left me there bored to the core. I got up and started looking around his room for any sources of entertainment. That's when I noticed a very interesting pile of papers. It was kept inside the pile called 'Terminate'. That was Danny's way of naming the bad people who he needed killed and done for good. I opened the folder and looked through a few interesting people's profiles. I also noticed Harry Sykes' profile. But there was one that shook every bone in my body. Nathan. Nathan's profile was in it too. Danny wanted to kill Nathan, when he didn't even have any proof of any ill-doings. I needed to talk to him about this. I continued going over the profiles.. only to get the biggest shock of my life. Sweat beads started forming on my forehead and my heart started thumping aloud. People on the other side of the world could've heard it. It was my real name, Chloe Smith! Danny wanted me dead as well. I heard footsteps coming towards the office and quickly shut the folder and put it where I found it.
Danny entered, looking not so happy. I wanted to know why he wanted me dead, and what I did wrong. I knew he was hiding something. But Danny was the one who helped me from the bad guys, and now he wants to kill me? How would that make sense?
I could barely speak and the walls in my throat were starting to get dry. I couldn't talk to him, so I ran out of the office and into Siva's car.
"Take me to Nathan. Now." I said, almost breaking down into tears.
"Kiara, are you alright?" He asked, concerned.
"Yes! Please go fast!" I stuttered and Siva set off for the house.
