Nathan's POV
I watched as the blood started flowing out of her body. She was paralyzed and barely breathing. I looked around and found no one. The gun-firing and everything had stopped. They only wanted to kill her and nobody else. I pulled out my phone from my pocket and quickly dialed the ambulance. I needed them to be right here. I cried into the phone like a little girl, begging them to make it as fast as possible. I didn't care about what they perceived of my actions. All I wanted was Kiara to be safe and sound.
I took off my jacket and pressed it against her wound to stop her from losing too much of blood. The tears that streamed down my face were endless. I had always wondered who would want to do something to such a sweet girl like Kiara. When my father first brought her home, her condition was indescribable. She was broken and so hurt physically and mentally.
I wanted to help her, but she blocked me out all the time. Even when I saw her in the club, I knew she wanted some distance from me. But I always felt this strange attraction between me and her. I think I've always liked her, I just didn't know it.
I loved her with all my heart, and knowing the fact that she was lying half dead in my arms was eating me alive.
When she told me that she loved me back, I couldn't believe my ears. My feelings were playing tricks on me and I was ecstatic. But I didn't know that it would just be such a short time that I could enjoy my time with her.
I heard the sirens of the ambulance and looked up with hope. Everything was a little blurry with the tears that had engulfed my eye balls. They ran out with a stretcher and immediately placed her on it. I watched as they wheeled her into the ambulance. I was about to get in but I was pushed back.
"She's my girlfriend!!" I shouted.
"No one else is allowed sir. Please kindly step aside!" He said as he harshly pushed my chest. I tried fighting my way through, but they all pushed me away from the ambulance. I sensed something fishy happening around me, but it didn't click too deep into my mind.
I watched as the shut the doors and immediately pulled out of sight. Without even thinking for a second, I ran back to Tom's place. I rushed into the house and looked for Tom. He was no where to be found.
"MATEE! I NEED YOUR CAR!" I shouted and got no response at all. I just grabbed the keys from the key holder and ran to the car.
I drove as fast as I could to the hospital and literally parked my car in the way. I didn't care who was behind me or what I was doing. I just needed to see Kiara and know that she was alright.
It was all my fault. I shouldn't have taken her out. I shouldn't have let her do that. I wouldn't be crying over her half dead state.
"I'm here for Kiara Fowler!" I panted to the receptionist. She looked at me awkwardly and typed something into her keyboard. She scanned the page with full attention and shook her head.
"Sorry sir. There is no Kiara Fowler on the database." She said politely. I was confused at what she was saying.
"There should be!!!" I retorted as I ran my hands through my hair. "Uh Erm.. Chloe Smith??" I asked, hoping for her to tell me Kiara's room number.
"Uhm.. Sorry. No Chloe Smith either!" She shook her head with a weak smile.
"She was just pulled in by an ambulance!" I shouted annoyed.
"Where did you call from?" She asked nicely.
I told her all the details and why I called the hospital. She listened attentively and grabbed the phone on her desk before typing some numbers into it. She spoke on it for a few minutes before giving me a confused expression.
"There was no call for an ambulance for such a situation." She said. I looked at her shocked and realised what a trap I had fallen into. I hadn't called the ambulance, because my call was redirected! It never reached the hospital. I felt pale in the skin, like all my blood had been drained out. I walked slowly back to the car and rested my head against the steering wheel. I needed her back safe! I needed her to be with me. I needed Kiara.
My phone started vibrating in my pocket and I carefully pulled it out. I slid the bar to answer and placed it next to my ear.
"Don't worry Nathan. We will take care of your bird." I heard an evil chuckle across the phone. I knew exactly who he was. His terribly sick voice was something I hadn't heard in a while.
"Danny! Don't you touch her!!" I threatened.
"I don't react well to threats Nathan!"
"I don't care how you react to them. You will think twice before even laying a finger on her."
"Or What? What are you going to do Nathan! You are as incompetent as your father is!" He chuckled.
"Danny... You think you're soooooooooo capable of doing everything in the world, don't you. We'll see how long that lasts!" I laughed coldly before hanging up.
I tried to show that I was strong. I was strong, but I was a lot scared inside for Kiara. I loved her, and I want her to be safe. She means everything to me at this point, and Danny could hurt her. I just wanted to put a message across that he better not hurt her.
But was that the best thing to do?
No.
