The sun set and the sun rose, beginning another day in the cell. I heard the trotting of many white horses being rode by the brave Camelot knights back from the war with their rescued comrade.
Word said to be a celebration for the rescue and victory of the knights. I felt the most happiness and pride for Mordred. He was very good as a knight being from where he was. I smiled at the sound of men cheering congratulations for each other.
I peered out the small window to witness the knight Mordred riding on his steed alongside another. A lady. She held him quite tight and he seemed to enjoy himself."Oh, Mordred" I sighed.
The celebration was held almost instantly. The prison ceiling let in the loud laughter and music of the royal court enjoying themselves in the large throne room upstairs. I thought of how much fun the two were having, probably indulging themselves with wine and dancing with pretty girls.
However, Merlin and Mordred rushed in the dungeon before the festivities even began.
They, without acknowledging me, had Mordred jab a key into the rusty lock. They both took each of my hands out of prison and rushed me through the castle without saying a word."You guys! What are you doing!" I whisper shouted. But no one was inside the castle except us three. Everyone of the castle was in the throne room.
They brought me up the stairs into Merlin's chambers and made me lay my eyes upon a beautiful dress hanging from the door frame of Merlin's room.
It was a brilliant blue and had ruffles galore. Tiny diamonds scattered all throughout the lace lining around the neck. My face radiated with so much joy."It-it's beautiful! What's this for?" I stammered with my hands at my mouth.
They both smiled warmly.
"It's for you" Merlin started.
"Your going with us to the ball" Mordrid finished.I was absolutely ecstatic.
"Oh my goodness, thank you! Both of you!" I exclaimed grabbing both of their sleeves."But, the people there. They'll know I'm supposed to be locked up!"
Merlin stepped forward and gave a smug smile.
"I! Will take care of that, my lady"He spoke twisted words of enchantment that made his eyes switch and glow bright colors.
I quickly interrupted the spell. "Merlin! Mordred's-" I tilted my head towards the knight.
He stepped in, "It's alright, I know of Emrys' powers. I won't give him away"
I widened my eyes, "Emrys? Merlin, you're Emrys?!"
He put his arm up scratching his head and shrugged embarrassed.
If Merlin's Emrys, the evil lady Morgana must be out for his blood! He's in so much danger!
"But don't worry about that now, Evangeline" Mordred assured.
"You must come to the celebration!" Merlin begged.
I turned to look at the hanging dress and turned back to see their pleading faces.
I smiled and said, "Alright, give me a minute" and I swiftly grabbed the dress and rushed into Merlin's small room to change.
I heard Merlin chant the spell once more outside the door.
I wore the wondrous gown and brushed the hay and tangles out of my locks. My hair was braided from my temples and weaved itself into the rest of it.
I opened the door and made myself down the few steps.
Their faces were quite amusing. They were completely stunned. I would be too, the dress was quite a sight. I gave them a happy smile and fluffed the dress.
I grabbed their sleeves and started towards the halls."So tell me, what did that spell do?" I said looking up to his face.
Merlin looked down at me and explained, "It will make any one who sees you, not notice that you... are you. I mean like, they will see you as yourself, but not realize who you actually are. B-but of
course I will, we will, know of who you are"I laughed at his nervous stutter and brought them closer.
"Thank you two, so much"
