"Olivia L. Strange
a loving daughter"
Dr. Stephen Strange stares at his daughter's grave. Of all the days of the year, this is his least favorite date— the day he lost everything; his career, his hands, most especially his beloved daughter, Olivia. Stephen would be lying if he said he never thought of using the time stone to return to the day of the accident and change everything just to get Olivia back. But knowing the consequences of messing up with time, he rather chose to live a life without his daughter.
Still staring, he levels himself to the height of the grave and puts down Olivia's favorite flowers— roses. He put his hand on the grave and caress it back and forth. Trying not to cry, he leans his forehead to the grave.
"I'm sorry" is all that he could say as tears race to fall from his eyes.
"Daddy's sorry, Oli" he whispers. . Every time Dr. Strange go visit Olivia's grave, he stood there staring at it hoping that this was all a bad dream and that someone would wake him up. This is the only day that he comes to the cemetery to visit Oli not because of his busy schedule, but because he can't bear the pain. If he's being honest, he doesn't really like going to the cemetery because every time he looks at the tomb felt like Olivia dying again and again. All he felt was pain and guilt. It brings him back to the day when he watched her daughter breathe her last.
He hears footsteps approaching him but, still, his eyes are on Olivia's grave. Even without looking at who's beside him, he already knows who it is.Stephen wiped his tears and fixed himself. He stood up and let out a deep breath
"Stephen," the woman said.
"Christine" he replies coldly.
Christine puts down a beautiful bouquet of roses in front of the grave. When Olivia was still alive, Christine was one of her closest friends. She likes Christine for her father. In fact, she was one of the reasons why they both got together. Olivia loved the idea of Christine being married to her father and eventually becoming her mother and Christine, too, would love Olivia to become her daughter. But fate wasn't too good to them.
"Thank you" Stephen says.
Christine looks at him confused.
"Thank you for loving my daughter"
"She wasn't hard to love, Stephen. Olivia's a great kid." She gives him a comforting smile as they both look at her grave.
"I remember she used to tell me all of the things she wants to do" Christine continues making Stephen look at her.
"She told me she wanted to travel the world. She wanted to try different foods. She even wanted to go sky diving but you wouldn't allow her" they both chuckled.
"It was just unfortunate that she didn't get a chance to do all of those things" she says sadly. Stephen sighed upon hearing what Christine said. It is true. Olivia had a lot of things that she wanted to do that she wouldn't be able to and Stephen blames himself for that.
Christine saw the look on his face that made her regret what she just said. "I'm so-"
"It's okay" he gave her a reassuring smile. He then noticed Christine grabbing a piece of an envelope in her bag. She hands it to Stephen. He looks at it and saw a fancy-looking envelope with a beautiful wax seal on it and then he knew.
"Will you come?" Christine asked.
"Of course" he smiled. He tried to.
Christine nodded and gave him a smile. "I'll go ahead. Take care, Stephen."
Stephen watches Christine as she walks away. His eyes are getting blurry from the tears that are building up in his eyes. Once again, he lost another person he loves on the same day years after he lost everything.
With the time that he spent there, he didn't even notice that it was about to rain until a drop of water falls on his head signaling that it is about to rain.
"I wish I could see you again, Oli. I would give anything, just to see you again" he whispers, and then he left as the rain begins to pour heavily.
Dr. Strange hates himself for not bringing an umbrella. He is now soaking wet and he can't find his sling ring anywhere in his pocket. Stephen sighed in relief as he finally finds the sling ring. While he is trying to put it on, a girl bumped into him causing him to fall the ring.
"I'm sorry, mister," the girl says, also soaking wet.
"It's doctor-" he corrected the girl and faced her. He was left speechless with what he saw. Could it be? But she's dead right? Strange and the girl locked eyes for seconds before she ran through the rain.
"Wait!" Stephen yelled and quickly grabbed the sling ring to the ground. He ran after the girl but as soon as he realized how fast she runs, he decided to create a portal that would instantly bring him to where she is. And in just a blink of an eye, he found himself on the sidewalk just in time to pull the girl's arm saving her from being run down by a car.
"are you okay?" Stephen asked the girl like a concerned dad. He then cupped her face checking for any bruise. The girl just looks at him, scared. She is trying her best to catch her breath but as she was about to speak, she passes out. Luckily, Stephen got to catch her on time.
