Chapter 6: The Multiverse is Real?

[flashback]

"your name's America? " Eli slowly walked toward the kitchen counter where America was sitting on the opposite side.

America nodded as she proceeded to consume her food.

"I hate to break to you America, but you need to go. First of all, you seem like a nice person but I do not know you personally. And this whole other universe thing-

"Multiverse" America corrected her.

"Okay, multiverse. Whatever you call it. It's not real-"

"Woah woah woah, hold on." she said while her mouth is still full of pizza

"The multiverse is real Oli-" she continues.

"It's actually Eli"

America crossed her arms "Eli?"

"Yeah- Enough with the chit-chat. What are you doing here anyway?" Eli furrowed her eyebrows.

"I'm looking for your dad"

"Seriously? You barge into my house. Say that the multiverse is real and now you're looking for my dad whom I do not even know" Eli crossed her arm in disbelief.

"Look, Ol- Eli." America took a deep breath and looked around the room to see if it was safe around them and if no one was watching them.

"If you won't believe me about the multiverse, that's fine. But I need to know where your father is, I really need his help-"

"I told you, I do not know him-"

Both of them stopped when a loud thud came from outside the house.

"it's here" America whispered

"what? who's here?" Eli, on the other hand, whispered loudly

When suddenly, a giant one-eyed octopus-like creature barged in the window which made the girls fall on the floor. America immediately stood up and grabbed Eli to run.

"C'mon!" America said

The girls then ran their way to the back door of the kitchen when suddenly Eli remembered something.

"The book!" she exclaimed and went back inside where the monster is , leaving America alone.

Eli tried her best not to get noticed by the monster by hiding behind the kitchen counter. She quickly scanned for the book and found it underneath the monster's tentacle. Eli was startled when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"what are you doing? we need to go" America said

"I have to get the book. Stay right here"

Eli sneaked behind the monster's back. She unexpectedly stepped on one of the monster's tentacles, catching its attention. The monster grabbed her by the hips and lifted her high. Eli tried to get out of its captivity but the monster was too strong.

"Hey!!" She turned to where the voice came from. She saw America waving her hand to the monster, trying to catch its attention.

"You want me right? Let her go!!" the monster immediately let Eli go, dropping her to her knees. The monster followed America outside the house. Eli grabbed the book and without hesitations, she went outside and tries to find where America went to help her.

Screams and cries for help are all Eli heard when she went outside. A lot of people were getting out of their cars and running in the opposite way of where the monster was heading. Eli then went inside a strangers car. But right at that moment, she remembered that she doesn't know how to drive a car. But she knew America needed her help. She took a deep breath and drove the car following the monster. As she was getting closer and closer, she saw that America was captured by the monster. Eli stepped on the gas making the car go faster and faster and crashed into the monster. America yells as the monster dropped her to the floor.

Eli quickly gets out of the car and goes to America.

"Hey, c'mon. We need to get out of here" Eli and America quickly ran when suddenly it grabbed them both. The monster grabbed America on both arms and legs. Eli, on the other hand, was grabbed by her hips.

Feeling scared, America screamed loudly creating a series of star-like portals. America creating the portal got the monster startled which is the perfect timing for Eli to create a way for them to escape. Eli took a deep breath and bit the tentacle leading the monster to let go of them. But before they could even hit the floor, America and Eli were sucked into the portal.
