Initiation

Y/N POV

That night I lay on my back when I hear scribbling. I walk to its source.

Y/N: "What're you doing?"

Ruby: "Writing a letter to dad. He made me promise to tell him how things are going at Beacon."

Y/N: "That's sweet."

Her cheeks turn red.

Yang: "Somebody's in loovvveee."

I toss a pillow at her face.

Y/N: "Shut up."

We then hear a match strike. We look where it came from.

Ruby: "It's her."

Yang: "Who's she?"

Y/N: "The girl that helped me stand up for Ruby."

Yang: "Then she sounds like a friend. Let's go talk to her."

She drags Ruby with her.

Ruby: "Wait no! Yang! Yang!!!"

They begin talking when I fall asleep. As I dream I find myself in a grassy plain. Rustling is heard. Turning I see grass moving.

Y/N: "Who's there?"

The rustling gets closer until it's right in front of me. I become scared when something lunges out at me. I scream waking up.

Ruby: "You okay?"

I pant looking at my hands.

Y/N: "Yeah. Just had a nightmare."

Ruby: "I can tell. You were mumbling in your sleep."

Getting dressed and eating breakfast I head with the others to a cliff.

Ozpin: "You've all trained tirelessly to perfect your skills. And today they'll be tested here in the emerald forest."

Glynda: "I know most of you are aware of rumors on teammates. They're true and you'll be given them today."

Ozpin: "Your teammate will be the first person you see after landing. Each pair is to head north to the relic temple. Bring one back here so that you may receive a grade."

I'm the first to be launched. Reaching out I swing from a vine landing safely on the forest floor. That's when I notice something.

Y/N: "It's so quiet. Eerily quiet."

I look around to not even hear the insects. A crash is then heard. Looking I see a small pack of Beowolves. I become fearful.

Y/N: "Oh crap, not good."

The pack snarls coming closer. The alpha roars sending the entire pack at me. I brace for the end when the world goes black. When it comes back I notice the gory sight before me. The bodies of the Beowolves lay about with their innards strung everywhere.

Y/N: "What on earth?"

I shake my head.

Y/N: "Best not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Time I got me a relic."

I book it to the relic temple. By the time I get there I see most of them already gone. 

Y/N: "Guess the others have been here already."

I nab my relic and head to the cliff. When I get there I see the others mid fight with two giant Grimm. Panic sets in as the world goes black again.

3rd POV

Yang: "We need a plan Ruby!"

Ruby: "Workin on it!"

Blake: "Well make it fast! This Nevermore isn't going down!"

A long howl fills the air. Panning past the action we see what can only be described as a massive humanoid Grimm.

Weiss: "What in the name of Oum is that!?!"

The humanoid Grimm leaps easily reach the Nevermore's back. Said Nevermore squawks being alerted to its presence. The unknown Grimm roars transforming its right arm into a double bladed bone axe. With a single swing it effortlessly beheads the Nevermore.

Ruby: "Woah."

Jaune: "Guys, a little help!!"

The Grimm leaps heading for the Deathstalker. It snaps its pincers ready for it. The Grimm however tucks into a ball as long spikes form creating a spiked ball. The Grimm comes down going straight through the Deathstalker. The Deathstalker gurgles before curling up and dying. The unknown Grimm returns to normal and bellows loudly proclaiming its victory. When it's finished it slinks into the woods.

Jaune: "What was that thing?"

Pyrrha: "I don't know. But it saved us."

Blake: "I think it's best we leave it and return to Ozpin."

Ren: "Agreed."

They walk back to Ozpin.
